Everyone here likes Gog, myself included. The good people at Gog are great at doing what they do best - providing a fantastic range of DRM free games unequaled anywhere. But let's face it, the General Forum is a chaotic hodge podge. (And just to clarify this is not about the game specific forums.)

Observing the threads right now on the first three pages of the General Forum I would suggest a good range of Sub-Forums for starters could be:

General Discussions on Games/Gaming.
Gog Announcements
Giveaways and Competitions
Politics and Current Affairs
Puzzles/Jokes/Humour
Science and Technology
TV/Movies/Music
Career/Health/Lifestyle

What do you think? Do you feel the forums here might be improved with sub-forums?

No, I like the more or less chaotic general forum. And something like a subforum for giveaways would only attract even more scammers and leechers.

In my opinion things can stay exactly the way they are now.

Most of these categories would stay empty/inactive anyways. Just look how often people tend to ignore game specific subforums.

No organization needed, it's great like this. Maybe fix the bugs instead.

It might make it easier to keep track of. Or if not there doesn't have to be a giveaways sub-forum. Those are only suggestions. It would ultimately be up to Gog, but I thought its time to float the idea.

meh, the more subforums you have the less discussion each one would get... there's already hundreds of game specific subforums that don't get a lot of traffic.

also enforcing topicality and making sure everything goes in the right forum would probably require more moderation/moderators

From all the change the forums could use, subforums would be the last thing on my list.

The game-specific sub forums are half dead usually, dividing General Discussion into sub-forums would likely slow things down greatly, and serve little purpose. I like it the way it is, it's more... organic that way. Threads influence other threads, it's all more lively and fun this way. Pretty much everything would require more moderators. It's hard to require less :D

I find it's fine as it is now. Never been much of a fan of minced forums with plenty of tabs/divisions/subforums for each thing

I wouldn't mind a few sub-forums, it would make it easier to find interesting threads.

As for the, more or less dead, game specific forums I think things around here is in need of a UI change. It's just too much of a hassle to search for the right forum instead of having all relevant forums in a clickable list with notifications when there's a new thread etc. I'd love to see a bit more life in the game specific forums.

I like it as it is. As has been said, more forums means less activity in each one.
