I decided to give Basilisk games a shout last night about getting Eschalon Book 1 & 2 on GOG, also gave them some praise for these awesome games.

Got an email back from them this morning saying they were already on it and should be arriving at GOG in the coming weeks which is awesome news. I will buy them again here for sure with getting all the extras, hopefully a soundtrack will be included as I love the music on these games.
That's good news, too bad they come out so late though considering both games have been on a bundle recently.
It's a good news!

I really liked both Books, it's my thing more than spiderweb games, i can't get used to them :(

Yes, but the Book 3 is coming soon (also with tools etc)

Yeah, I can't seem to manage the Spiderweb games either especially the Avernum games, fairing a bit better with Avadon though which is really good.

I do prefer the Eschalon games though in all fairness to Basilisk Games. They look really nice and play just like Baldurs Gate games. You don't have to think to much when it comes to the combat either when playing as a fighter which is always good if you can't get your head round the turn based stuff.
Yay I can't wait to not buy these games I already own elsewhere and which have been DRM free since their release.

GOG should focus on stuff that isn't already widely available and DRM free.
Really good games and with a third one on its way its as good as any time to arrive here.
Too late.

So much this.

They should realize that stalling with releasing some games that are widely avaible, for pocket money, is their fault, and releasing a game after everybody bought it is not the smartest thing on earth.

Glad they are coming. I hope the devs benefit from being introduced to a wider audience, and gog users benefit from having access to a great game. Plus don't forget, book 3 will be out in the not too distant future :)
There can never be enough Indie rpgs on GOG so glad to see they are coming in the near future.
Funny, if everyone has already bough the game somewhere else, how come I don't have those games yet? Or do certain people still incorrectly think that everyone has bought the time limited Humble Indie Bundles or whatever, when they were active maybe some years ago?

GOG introducing games that are already sold elsewhere too is no different from Steam introducing games that were originally only in GOG. I mean come on, System Shock 2 can already be bought from GOG, so why should Steam be allowed to sell it too? Bitch bitch bitch...

What if I want the other parts too? Should I hunt for them separately from other random indie bundles? I don't want to buy from a web site which gives me "stack overflow" errors all the time. :)

I think it is rather simple:

- The moaners who already have the game in Steam or whatever their choice of service is can simply skip buying it. No need to bitch about it every time, as if GOG owes it to you _not_ to release some games (what a stupid idea anyway).

- GOG is the only one who has real data whether it makes (or not) sense for them to release games that are sold elsewhere too. You guys are just guessing.

Either way, it is stupid to think that "everyone has the game already" just because it has been in some random time-limited "Be Mine Royal Indie Booyah!"-bundles. Not everyone is running after the random indie bundles all the time, especially the ones offering only Steam-keys.

In that case you go to http://basiliskgames.com/eschalon-book-i and purchase Eschalon Book I for 5,99$ which is the only other part which has been released so far.

You should get to know what sales potential is. I am almost sure Eschalon will not sell well on GOG. Just like many other previous releases that were just... too late. And you say that this is guesswork - well, bestsellers list is avaible to everyone, so you can at least compare how games that everybody has sell.

And this is a special case, because as we know, GOG refused to sell Eschalon games long time ago. They changed their minds. I say, it's too late.

Also, you really think that people who say "everybody has it" mean that literally?

I might be wrong though, because RPG fanbase is quite strong on GOG.
