I noticed the game like 2 hours ago and since them I'm intrigued. It sort of kind of looks like Warhammer 40k meets Deus Ex FPS/RPG, but I'm unsure if it's worth it. Has anyone tried it? And how about co-op, is it awesome? Is the whole thing awesome? Basically, what are your opinions about it?
I'm interested in this one too. I skimmed through a games mag at the shops the other day and they had a small segment on it praising it, but I haven't heard much else about it.
I almost regret having bought it. The gameplay is pretty weak, at least early on. You're given a mission, told to sneak around, but stealth is basically nonexistent. Enemy detection range is map wide, so unless you're behind them, if you can see them, they see you.

That was the turn-off point for me. So I can't really go in-depth.

My experience is that the game is pretty lethal. So don't expect to wade into combat, either. I was basically left with the only option being to find cheap potshots and savescum.

Unless stealth is unavoidable I'd probably shoot my way trough it anyhow, so ... Is stealth unavoidable? :D

Stealth pretty much doesn't exist unless you have the invisibility ability. So it's quite avoidable.
Let me put it this way... this is a game that uses Left 4 Dead fork of Source engine. If you go in guns blazing, you'll be blazing guns for pretty much the entire level. There are infinite respawn areas. If you use stealth (which requires a very cheap invisibility upgrade, because shadows don't conceal you) you'll be able to sneak past most enemy groups.
I've beaten it once, grinded for a few upgrades but still wait for patch number 2 and the DLC to decide whether I will go all the way - 3.5 playthroughs - to get the real ending.
bump... Guys? No one else? No one?
I'm also interested in this one. I've heard some very mixed views though and some of the criticisms hit at points important to me. I might grab it if it's really cheap in a sale sometime.

It's... different. Writing is pretty weak, even though the main story itself is not so bad. What it is not by any stretch is a second Deus Ex. The only way to actually enjoy it is to approach it as a kind of sandbox cyberpunk action; then it becomes very, very rewarding. It has LOADS of alternative ways of accomplishing your objectives - e. g., you can snipe from away, hack into turrets (or even enemy's best fighter's mind) and wreck havoc, use psionic powers or simply assault, guns a-blazing - it all depends upon the way you build your character and prefer to deal with the situation.

Also game gets bonus points for some bullet-blocking sword action :).

But once again, writing is mostly uninspired, and characters are real bland. So you might like it, but you'll need to accept it for what it is.

Stealth issue someone mentioned - I wonder if he meant pre-patch? First patch decrease enemy LOS considerably so stealth is more viable now.

Why not read the large thread with opinions in it from when the game came out? Several others and I wrote nice long paragraphs of opinions then and they still count today. Why a new thread?

gimme link, I cound't find anything - E.Y.E. wreaks havoc on search engines it seems
http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/e_y_e_divine_cybermancy

You probably didn't go to the last page when you searched. The top results on GOG searches are on the final page.

On the other hand, stealth with the cloak can be arguably overpowered at times. With the right implants you can pretty much bypass most if not all enemies on a lot of maps. If it wasn't for the way you gain XP in the game it would be the fastest way to complete objective. By the time you get past certain level pretty much everyone uses cloak to some degree.

Bad gfx, pretty incomprehensible story, constantly respawning enemies that are apparently psychic, they are constantly drawn to you no matter where you are, or they will shoot at you from distances so great, you do not know who the hell is shooting at you.
The snipers are a pain in the face, because if you aim at them to shoot them back, their laser blinds you.
The graphics can be incredibly dark sometime that you wont know where enemies are.
Some missions on huge empty maps, give no idea how to progress.
Most of your time will be following waypoints across huge empty maps on really asinine "quests". In fact I would say that during the whole game, you will spend a few hours just walking across vast pointless areas.
The save system is a complete pain in the ass.
The tutorial videos in game are pure shyte.
It has a research system that is interesting but difficult to fathom, you will need to hit the internet on how to research some of the more important items as the research menu gives you no idea on what things do.

On saying all of that, the game is only 20€, so you get what you pay for. Its devs seem to have abandoned it, they said they would fix certain things like the respawn rate and psychic enemies, they released a patch that not only didnt fix those problems, but argueably didnt fix all the items in the patch notes either. When the game was released they were on the Steam forums every day, placating people saying they would fix stuff, they are notably absent now since they figured they have sold about as many copies as they will by now. They were supposed to release a demo, I would say that if they did, it would harm any prospective sales, they still havent released a demo.

I have heard a rumour that there will be some free DLC released sometime in the near future, I personally wouldnt be downloading it or anything else from the devs.

You should check out Hard Resets demo, you may find it interesting.

Please check your facts next time, OK? On 09-06 a dev appeared on forums, confirming a second patch is coming as well as a demo.

But of course "teh internetz" know better and the game, of course, was abandoned and devs have flewn to the Bagamas with all the ill-gotten money. and that was the last we've seen them.
