Steam doesn't have it, even though they have the Deus Ex duology, so they must have SOME kind of dialogue with whomever owns the Ion Storm licenses. I looked for a physical copy, but yet again, everyone who's selling one seems to thing that "Old means rare, and rare means I get to sell it for beau-coup bucks". Especially that "HitGaming" store on Amazon. Have you checked out his storefront? It's ridiculous! Old GBA games for upwards of $60! But I divan. Ion Storm didn't release the game on the Playstation, opting instead for a Dreamcast release, so I doubt I'll be able to get it on the PSN (I say this assuming that Eidos owns Ion Storm, and Sony owns Eidos. Or was it Square that owns Eidos? Does Sony own Square?).

Navagon: Is it complete unto itself or is it just another KOTOR 2?
avatar
bansama: It ends on a really annoying cliffhanger that was meant to transition into the second half of the game. So as it stands, the actual story has never been finished =(

Sounds like Advent Rising. Excellent game, but rather disappointing that it was made as the first part of a trilogy, the two last chapters of which were never made. For some reason, lots of people here have said how much they hate it. I found it very much like Mass Effect 1, both in style and quality.

trusteft: If you want to buy the game, go ahead, but I am willing to bet you will never not just finish it, but play even half way through it. And even if you do manage to play all the way through, you are going to be pissed off by the ending.

I have bought it, I have played it past the halfway point, I have finished it. Did you even read:
It leaves you wanting more, to be sure, but that's the good news. The bad news is you ain't gonna get any. It's not unenjoyable, if that's what you're asking.
I misplaced my copy long ago, and the purpose of this thread was to track down a digital merchant. As for who "spoiled brats" was meant for, what you take from my comments is rooted in your own conscience. I named no names. And don't rewrite my comments in your quotes, that's confusing to other readers.

It's a forum bug. If you edit a double quote, it really messes up the whole post.

Navagon: Oh, and do you think you could edit that list out of your post, please? It's a bit much for such an off topic post.

Done. As for the topic, I've not seen the game in any DD service either. Would love to get it too.

Another vote for the Wishlist. : )

Petrell: Have you tried TSL Restored Content Project?

Navagon: Yeah. I didn't even buy it before that was finally released. To be honest with you, I'm not sure why they bothered. Even if it was finished, the game was never going to be good. All the additional work you could give it wouldn't have saved it. Had it not had the Star Wars name it would have been immediately discarded as a decidedly below average game.
I know Obsidian still aren't familiar with the concept of working within time and budget constraints, but I was under the impression they new how to write a good story, deep and entertaining characters, inject humour where appropriate and script quests that weren't mind bogglingly dull. Their work, before and since, has suggested they can do that.
It was and always will be a tedious, unbalanced and broken game.

Odd, I found KoTOR2 + TLSCRM better than KoTOR1. It's one of the few Star Wars works that isn't black and white (the setting's greatest weakness IMHO).
Did you like KoTOR1?

According to This it has never been released via digital distribution. However a quick look at Amazon shows a disc copy for sale at $7.95.

Interesting that Anachronox came out along with Deus Ex from the same studio that brought that train wreck known as John Romero's Daikatana.

Daikatana was a lesson for everyone involved. I still hold out hope that Romero will get over his revulsion and re-attempt to make the game.
Yes, Star Wars does typically have a very much more black and white take on morality. But then that's just a part of the whole nature of the fantasy setting it resides in. The force takes people in one direction or the other.
It's basically swords and sorcery in space, after all. Well, lightsabres and force powers in space.
Which might explain why KoTOR 2's character development seemed so forced. Like it was trying to wedge the concept of neutrality into a deeply polarised universe.

Yes. Loved it at the time. But I feel that Mass Effect has surpassed it quite considerably now. I still miss pazak though. If RPGs have to have mini games then that's how they should be done.

Deus Ex came from the same studio, but a different group entirely, under Warren Spector. Anachronox was probably Romero's penance, but more likely Tom Hall told him "don't touch the computers, just stand there and look pretty".

And that's why Star Wars sucks. It's DnD for retards. : )

I played Advent Rising and had a blast, but I wouldn't hold it up to Mass Effect for a second. For one thing, Bioware does characters and story better than most -- Advent, on the other hand, felt to me like it was best enjoyed on MST3K terms.
The most enjoyable moment in that game, IIRC, was during Gideon's training montage when I alt-tabbed out of the game to blast the Team America montage song in the background. Honestly, the game was worth it just for that.

Huh?
Are you talking about one of the Star Wars pen and paper RPG systems or the setting?
DnD is for people who'd rather play house than participate in a proper war game. ;o)

If that was supposed to be funny. The humour is lost on me. If that was supposed to be serious then perhaps you should make less nonsensical analogies when you're calling people who like the most popular film ever made retards.
