Taking a guess here but perhaps the costumes are unlockable through normal gameplay but those DLCs are for "quick unlock", so to speak.

Can any other poster who is knowledgeable about these games verify whether the idea that they are censored on GOG is true or untrue?

All VN's sold on GOG that have 18+ content are the censored / "all-ages" versions. Sometimes the uncensor patch is free; sometimes you have to pay for it as a DLC.

You are aware that anime VN is in general censored and I don't mean just missing the uncensored patch but the Japanese mosaic bullshit.

If you wanna find out the easy way, just go to VNDB and check which are originally X-rated and which were All-ages to behind with. All X-rated VN are censored here in the west unless buying from JAST USA or Manga Gamer.

Sadly all VN are stuck with "Woke" translators so who knows how much dialogue is censored in the games or altered for westernization.
