Such a shame. The dev seems like a genuinely decent person who I'd love to support here. I guess like a lot of indies, they want to just focus on the big corp Steam option for simplicity, but while I understand that when it's big scummy corps themselves, seeing decent indies with good causes abandon the values of GOG... it makes me a bit sad.

I would gladly have bought the DLC here if it had been available, but refuse to buy it on Steam after the removal of the game from GOG. I just really feel strongly about not supporting that behavior.

The homeless game has one less home.

I'd wager this is another case of the dev used a Sham trojan horse feature (their DRM API "check for DLC ownership but everyone has the same install" call) which limited their ability to release elsewhere without it. I.e., Valve continues to make things difficult for everyone through the illusion of making it easier for developers.

"mediocre"-ily received here but very well received on Steam. interesting.

Personally, I'd say in part because the dev seems very active and interacts with customers on Steam. Problems are addressed rather than left people thinking "this is probably the state the game will always be in".

Steam has a larger casual install base that's very susceptible to groupthink.
The type of platform GOG is opens itself up to a more niche and uniquely opinionated userbase.

It's a horrible premise for a game.

Good riddance.

It's a good premise, executed in a boring way.

One thing people don't seem to realize is that there are a lot of systems to help them onto their feet, to clothe and feed them, but they need to swallow their damn pride and the aristocratic whitewashing.
The delist warning was fairly generous timewise, but without the dlc released on gog, i cant consider an impulse purchase for an incomplete product.
I'll add my appreciation for this format of stickying "delisting" posts. It helps a lot.
The game is gone now, so this can be un-stickied (so all the people who refuse to look at stickied posts can complain they didn't see it in time XD ).

Thanks mods for making thread visible for me. Not sure if I'd buy it, but at least now I know that it's too late to make a decision :)
I'm suffering from "sticky-threads blindness".

It's not a case of refusing, it's a case of not seeing the wood for the trees.
