LordCephy: Now I think I want a game to exist that involves squids playing baseball... or maybe Cthulhu baseball. Everyone gets extra hugs or a free round of insanity. I'm not sure which.
Lol

Btw: There is a cutesy/funny game called Cthulhu Saves Christmas, that you might like.

avatar
LordCephy: Anyway since I'm fairly newish to GOG due having only joined earlier this year, let's do it this way:

First person who joined either in 2020 or 2021 that missed out on these awesome games and wants to claim my entry, just make a post yourself saying that you want my entry. :) Be sure to make an additional entry for yourself also.
Sounds good.....also adding this to my post(via this reply) so others will notice it. :)

JakobFel: Question 1: Well, since this is the GOG forum, I'll talk about how Doc0075 is generous to a ridiculous degree. Not only has he donated countless games to giveaway threads here but he has bought me several games I've wishlisted, even ones that aren't particularly cheap. It honestly encourages me to be more generous with what I currently can afford and, if I ever have extra money, I'm going to try to pay it forward because that level of generosity is so rare in the modern world.
Yeah, Doc and others were also part of why I got into giving back to the community myself(via games and helpful info and kind words and whatnot).

avatar
JakobFel: Question 2: Right now, I'm striving toward eating healthier/more wholesome foods and getting in proper exercise. My aim is to lose some excess fat and to build muscle. I'm not interested in being ripped but I am rather tired of being mostly a stick figure (with the exception of that excess fat I mentioned). So far, it's not going as well as I want it to BUT I'm trying to be patient as I work into this.
Note: ya might wanna keep some fat to have in case yer ever sick/etc. That said, this is a good goal so I wish you luck with it.

avatar
JakobFel: I already have the Ultima Underworld games so I'm entering for Syndicate Plus.
Yer entry is now....entered. Good luck to ya, fren.

Dogmaus: As for your new avatar, it's funny and a bit kitch and it suits a -3000 points account XD I don't know what it is about as I know nothing of sports unless Tetris tournaments count as a sport. The only baseball game I've played was some NES title in the arcades, and I had no idea of what was going on.
In case you were curious, my avatar is actually from a somewhat decent little comedy about a retired baseball player who needs to come back to play as part of his record didn't count. The film is called: Mr 3000 :)

avatar
Dogmaus: Not in, just chiming in to say it's a great opportunity to those who have missed in those classics +++
Yer post is a valid entry, by the by, so would you like to nominate someone(either someone already entered or someone else entirely) for the draws?
(if you want to do so, you can nominate the same gogger for both draws, or a different gogger for each draw).

That game is already on my wishlist! I cannot really justify buying it until it goes on sale as I'm going to have a lot of extra vet expenses with my cat. He was at the cat ER earlier today and was diagnosed with partial paralysis - need to wait for the x-rays and blood tests to come back for the official confirmation of the cause. Final bill was a little under $600.

And that's not a pity part for why anyone should gift anything to me. I'm just enjoying our conversation. *nods*

I may not have the spare money to buy much of anything as I'm anticipating more visits to the vet with my cat, but I literally have a backlog of about 500 games to keep me occupied until then. :)

Just wanted to say that that is sad to hear about your kitty companion. I will pray for them and hope they get better or are able to live as comfortably as possible.

I hear ya....but let's just say I have noted that you have an interest in that game, in case it ever does go on a future sale(and I have the money at the time, of course).

Btw, you seem to like Cthulhu themed games.....do you also have Dark Corners of the Earth wishlisted, by any chance? :)

GamezRanker: Or the Big League Chew brand bubble gum?
Pree-cisely! found some of those ads in 200s-era Archie's comics. We don't have that brand of bubble gum here, but the comic books were imported.

Thanks! Prays, hopes well wishes and positive energy are welcome! He was sent home with gabapentin to treat possible nerve pain (it says so on the prescription label) while we wait on the results of the x-rays and blood tests. He's been lounging about peacefully doing sexy cat poses trying to hide the fact that he doesn't feel well.

I'm passing over Dark Corners of the Earth due to the issues I've run into with both Shadow of the Comet and Prisoner of Ice. Shadow of the Comet flat out won't run. Prisoner of Ice sometimes runs, sometimes doesn't. When it does run, it sometimes gets sound and sometimes doesn't plus saving has been just as flaky. Granted that they're different developers, but I'm having a very bad track record when it comes to the actual Call of Cthulhu franchise on PC, which isn't a huge loss for me. I like some adventure games but like RPGs significantly more.

Also my PC is a laptop that has an integrated graphics (Intel UHD 620), so there's a lot of weirdness like how Might & Magic 9 would not work to the point that I got a refund (even though MM 1-8 all work), but the demo for Dr Livingstone, I Presume? worked just fine even thought this computer is very slow spec. Unfortunately for Dr Livingstone, I got a bit motion sick on the staircase in the demo so won't be playing the actual game to go looking for him.

I have a Steam account just for downloading demos, which is all I use that site for.
Hi,
thank you for the giveaway! I'd like to enter for Syndicate Plus.

As for a nice thing I have done for others - I try to be helpful when I have an opportunity. It's hard to localize it to one action, but there are small things I try to do on an ongoing basis. For example,
- Online I try to give good and thorough replies when I see someone asking for help or information.
- I have posted game deals fairly regularly on a couple of forums I visit, even if they do not interest me in particular, in case others want to benefit from them.
- I've recently started to donate keys to giveaways both here on GOG and on SteamGifts.

I like the avatar. I has an air of being confident and capable, and of course baseball is a favorite pastime for many. From what I know, the film "Mr 3000" itself has a good message about being appreciated not because of an arbitrary number milestone but because of one's general attitude - and I think that applies well to GOG reputation too. Thank you for being here. :-)

Yeah, I felt the film's message worked well to get my point across about rep/etc, which is partially why I picked it.

GamezRanker: Awww
I just got the test results back about ninety minutes ago, and it's a bit of a doozy as my poor cat has been not feeling well but hiding it.

The x-rays show that spondylosis with disc degeneration in the lumbar and sacral region. The lumbar is most of the back half of the spine while the sacral is a small area right before the tail.

The blood tests shows that he has diabetes. He's never been obese and at his max, he was 1 lb overweight.

The urine tests suggests that he may have a urinary tract infection.

Pretty much he needs pain killers for his back... plus possibly diet changes to high protein & moisture / very low carbs and insulin... plus an antibiotic. He'll also need to go into the vet somewhat regularly just to check his blood glucose levels.

My main concern with the Insulin is that it is used to lower their sugar levels such that their sugar levels can crash. I had this happen once before with a diabetic cat and while I live 5 minutes away, it's a nightmare right now just getting in. We actually tried to take him there on Friday only to find that the wait time just to get your pet into the building is hours... we might put him on just the food first, but I think I need to make a phone call over to the ER vet for info.

All these diagnosis do suck on their own, and they suck more that this is the cat that has the absolute most sweet temperament... but it's all treatable. What probably makes all this a bit easier for me to deal with is that I just lost another cat about two months ago due to cancer that was everywhere from his lungs to his lower abdomen -- it's still devastating when I think about it... okay, now I'm crying.

I got the contact information for two other emergency 24-hour vets here. If we needed to take him to either because the one 5 minutes away was at max capacity and couldn't take another animal inside. It would be a bit more complicated as someone would need to be rubbing sugar syrup or honey on his gums the entire trip, but it's not something that is impossible. In this situation, you're not really bothering with the carrier - just wrapping the cat up in a towel or blanket in case more syrup/honey needs to be given. Like with human diabetics, they can die if their sugar levels drop to zero.

The fact that these are treatable is indeed a relief, even if it is otherwise difficult news. It sound like you are planning well for the possible emergencies. Good luck to you and your cat.

He got his first taste of his new food and likes it better than his old food. It's high protein, low starch.

If you go by the Chonk Chart, the cat with diabetes is A Fine Boi thus doesn't need diet cat food. (The one that past away two months ago was also A Fine Boi.)

However two of the other cats in the house are A Heckin' Chonker and a Megachonker, both of which decided that their food was slop such that they didn't finish dinner. (A vet said the Megachonker is the weight equivalent to a 600lb woman.) It's not going to hurt either of them to go to bed after eating only half a meal.

We have a fourth cat with kidney failure that is a She Chomnk - completely spoiled and won't eat unless hand feed. How is this cat chubby when I know she doesn't eat a ton? O.o
