Almost to the first milestone. Was worried they wouldn't even get there for awhile, so I just upped my contrib a smidge. With some of the benefits its almost like they are paying you to give them money. The $15 pledge is very attractive if one doesn't own the first game, and still so if you do.
There's a new doublecard tier, 15 dollar pledge level rewards plus "TWO Radeon HD 6770" (direct quote) "all for a total of $106".

So umm, yeah, setting up Crossfire AND getting a cool game funded for 106 bucks? Wow, good deal (note international shipping requirements).

That is a killer deal for anyone who needs a GPU upgrade. I wonder what the processing time will be, though...

I believe they were hoping to ship in September, but check the Updates section to be sure.

Thats nuts even if was a mistake and you only got 1. If I wasn't about to go through finical upheaval I would be considering it. Passmark rates it at around 1700 vs mine at around 930. If it really is two you could probably just sell the extra and get some money back that way.

Lol this is starting to look more like a hardware sale than a crowd-funding project for a game.

Well, if you have Razer and AMD backing you it makes sense some of the rewards would be hardware based;)
I have to admit it's tempting though. I mean, $110-$120 gets you THREE GPUs. That's an incredible return for what you pay.

Exactly. It is more a hardware sale than a funding project. And as a crowd-funding project, this one is terrible in my opinion. They're asking an insane amount of money for an indie TD game. 250k for a map pack DLC? Seriously? And people still complain about Activision's DLC policy? 1 million for the sequel to a TD game? Again, are these guys serious? Wasteland 2 and Shadowrun asked for less than that, and these are projects bigger in scope than DG2.

C'mon, Ouya asked 950k for a fucking new console. This Kickstater is so fucked up it's unbelievable. By the way, i have read the FAQ, and i understand that they'll work on DG2 even if it doesn't reach the 1 million goal (and it won't), but still, they have done it wrong. I bet they could have raised much more if they had focused on DG2 and showing us all the ideas they have instead of going "oh, at this goal you'll get a new DLC, at this higher goal you'll get a remake of the original title in the new engine".

I loved the first DG and i hope they make DG2 one day, but their Kickstarter project was really poorly executed in my opinion.

Neobr10: ....
I sometimes wonder if people who say this kind of stuff actually know what salaries cost in big, US cities for these kinds of folks, even when they're underpaid. If you're getting other KS deals for what you think is "cheaper" I guarantee it's because one of two things: 1) A significant portion of their own cash is being poured into the project as well, or they're wealthy enough to forgo income for awhile, 2) a ton of the work has already been done.

You're kidding about scope of video games compared to stuff like Wasteland 2, right? Because those scopes were tiny until we gave them 3 million USD, then the scopes grew.

Finally, this KS isn't being run all that much differently from other KS deals that have some physical stuff as a component, the OGRE KS ran in much the same way.

And, for the non-rant portion of my post: There's new Updates in which backers or those on the fence may be interested.

Looks like the $250,000 line has been breached. Prepare to retrieve cores.
Yep, final 48 hours now (47 now, actually) and 250k has been reached. Will this explode in the last 48 as so many of these types of Kickstarters do or will we be waiting awhile for DG2. I dunno. I do have enough KS funded games coming soon to keep me busy for a good, long time.

The 500k stretch goal, multiplayer and new engine, is probably doable and if we fund the new engine that's going to be the slowest part of the DG2 development I would guess.
Damn, I have much respect for people who can do this (musical take on DG2 theme music): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyDshHEK-gE&feature=player_embedded
Sadly I just don't see passion in this Kickstarter. For a game as good as the first this amazes me. My hope is they keep their goals and they get funding from other sources. Valve might work as they have a strong relationship and they would respect platform/quality goals.

Is that because you suck at it so horribly?
