DaCostaBR: Speaking of publishers, the original release was published in Japan by Marvelous Interactive, but since the Director's Cut never came out over there, there seems to be no ties between Marvelous and the Director's Cut, and that's the one coming to PC, maybe Rising Star might retain the rights over there as well?
That remains to be seen. This could be another Capcom like scenario, where Marvelous hold the rights but don't intend to release the game. You'd be surprised at how many games Capcom JP have had rights to over the years simply so the games wouldn't be sold =/.

Also, I've just looked this up on Amazon JP, and they themselves are selling the UK import of the Directors Cut. Amazon tend to leave the selling of imports to Market Place users. It's not often you see them doing it themselves.

Agh, what's the angle with sitting on things and not doing anything with them?

Who knows. Even joint rights owners can't get any sense out of Capcom when they do it.

bansama: Honestly I wouldn't expect GOG to be selling this one. RSG themselves don't have a clear idea of which regions they will be releasing the game in and with GOG only selling games that can be sold worldwide, if RSG can't or won't sell the game in a specific region, then GOG won't sell the game at all.

Also given how they want to embrace Steamworks features, etc., I'd also be surprised if they bothered to put out a DRM free version.
Yeah, I know it can be a logn battle to get the game here. At least they didn't say they plan to make it a Steam exclusive and I guess they are looking into other distribution channels.
I dont get the popularity of this game, I played it on 360 for about an hour and said fukit and traded it in, it was really (imo) quite dire.

For me, it's all about Twin Peaks.
If I can't get the real closure to that story (and David Lynch leaves no hope for it), I can settle for a nice substitute :)

It's because of things like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-41YUSZ9VAg

If you don't find this so weird that it is hilarious, then the game just isn't for you.

SirPrimalform: Not going to help them get onto Steam unless they announce a DRM-free release somewhere else as well. Why would I want to help them be Steam exclusive?
Sir, there is a small but vocal group of DRM-free supporters on their greenlight page. Your sword would be really welcome :)

I have already posted a little on their Greenlight page. ;)

Where is the action focussed at the moment? I'll gladly join you.

Where they say they listen :)
We need more GOGers there and on the GOG wishlist :)

Posted, if it is does feel a little odd asking for a DRM-free version on the Steam forums of all places.

Still, if that's where they're listening...

I know, it's kind of awkward... but it's the only place to talk about the PC port and we have a chance to recruit some more DRM-free gamers :)
Well, I've added my voice.

As odd as having Steam giveaway and Steam sales thread on GoG forum ;-)

Well, not really. I mean, a lot of us are Steam users to varying extents (most of us only when games we really want won't run on anything else).

I'll get a game requiring Steam (or UPlay or Origin) if I really want it and can't get it anywhere else, or if there really is a marked difference between the console versions and PC version (Far Cry 3, Skyrim). Deadly Premonition is not one of those games I would absolutely have to get for PC. If I have to choose between Steam and PS3, then PS3 it will be.
