is a mess.
Stuttering every single second, both during gameplay and cutscenes (the sound is choppy too), fhe game freezes random, and also italian subtitles are simply horrible, they are full of grammatical errors, it seems that they translated the game with Babelfish.
I hope for a fix, but for now this Director's Cut is one of the worst thing I saw from Silent Hill HD Collection unpatched.
So it's true to the original?
I've always wanted to play that game, hope it will hit pc land some day

Smannesman: So it's true to the original?
It's the SAME game. It has also some additional cutscenes when you finish a chapter, but nothing new playable content.
Basically if you own the original version, it has a solid framerate. The only real improvement is control side, now the game seems like Resident Evil 4.
I'd be happy to endure all those pains if the game hits PC.
Deadly premonition... hmm, sounds like "My socks, only with rocks" kinda game.
The remake gets points for the improved controls and the fact that it seems less prone to crashing when you drive into plot markers. Also for finally being a translated PS3 release.
The stuttering is awful though, and in some stretches it makes driving even more sluggish than usual.

Oh, and the loading sequence... The exact order might be a bit off, but here's the gist.
1. "Strap on your PS Move" warnings. 4 screens, can be reduced to 3 by skipping.
2. Black screen.
3. Loading trophies...
4. Warning that the game uses autosave. You must press a button.
5. Warning that you must hold the gamepad tight. You must press a button.
6. 4 or 5 unskippable studio logos.
7. Intro loads. Press Start to skip.
8. Title screen. Press Start to start.
9. Game prompts you to select a save. Press button.
10. You sure you want to load that? Y/N. Press button.
11. Check it out! It loaded! Press button to "whatever".
12. Hit button over Load Game option.
13. Hit button again to Resume game, unless you plan to replay an earlier chapter.
BUT WAIT!!!
14. "Previously on" episode recap time! Press Start to skip.
15. Loading screen.
16. Game actually starts.

Surprised: none? The original version is, based on the multiple video reviews I've watched, a putrid pile of shit on every level and a true HD edit would require a complete remaking of the game. Anyway, I don't get the people who praise the hell out of the game. Even if it wasn't a mess from a technical point of view, I still found the game utterly ridiculous and dumb.

I don't mind about graphic (this was a PS2 game on planning), but I care for the stuttering issue, that was missing and a "feature" of this DC.
