A failed Kickstarter, Undead Overlord, has now relaunched on Early Access Steam.

It's an RTS whereby you play the zombies! Looks good for an alpha, IMO.
What do you guys think?
At any rate, I think it's a pretty novel idea...

For those table top roleplayers out there. Tact-Tiles are back! My old gaming table had a set. I almost bought a set before they went out of business ten years ago. Since then, sets have gone for hundreds of dollars when they showed up on EBay. Not even going to tallk about the cardboard knockoffs that were produced since then...

Any idea why it was suspended? I was actually thinking of bidding on this and it seems to have met it's funding goal :_

I don't think KS has offered any public explanation. Here is an article regarding the last weekend of the campaign

My guess is that it was suspended because the guys doing this pretended they were the ones behind the original STALKER games, but said people (most of whom work for the dev doing Metro) denied they were involved.

It really looks like a scam tbh, not to mention that $50k is nowhere near enough to make a game like STALKER.

They did - Kickstarter said it broke one or more of these rules. The people who were trying to get Kickstarter to suspend it say that the creators broke all four rules.

-A related party posing as an independent, supportive party in project comments or elsewhere
-Misrepresenting support by pledging to your own project
-Misrepresenting or failing to disclose relevant facts about the project or its creator
-Providing inaccurate or incomplete user information to Kickstarter or one of our partners

One of the biggest reasons was probably them spamming the comment section of the KS to bury all negative (read: critical) comments. When KS staff banned the spamming accounts they made new ones and continued spamming. When KS staff banned those too, suddenly users appeared who started having "discussions" in Russian to bury the comments.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg... there's lots and lots of stuff like posting a plagiarised screenshot from a Unity asset pack and claiming it was an early screenshot of the game -- when backers drew attention to it, they deleted the post and claimed backers were making fake Facebook pages to discredit them.

It was pretty entertaining to follow, actually. The highlight of the campaign was probably when they claimed to have received a letter of support from Putin.

I imagined this would be the problem, would have been nice to have a genuine spiritual successor too :(

Oh Deary Do!
My biggest Kickstarter fear is a "The Producers" type situation were somebody raises a lot of money, but puts out a bare bones, cheaply made piece of garbage. As they have produced a game looking kinda like what they had up on the page, meeting Kickstarter's requirements, the backers don't get a refund and the producer keeps the profits.

Kickstarted games must be made if funding is successful, according to the sites rules, but no were is it stated the product has to be any good.
