Zwei: The Arges Adventure is coming soon, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The land of Arges is in danger! Even before that mysterious stranger came to poach the six sacred idols, the land was ravaged by Pokkle and Pipiro's crazy antics and painfully unfunny jokes. But now the plucky 14-year-olds take it upon themselves to set things right by using magic, melee and LOTS of food in the chaotic real-time encounters ahead of them.

I'm guessing by the horrible art style that this game is more fun with a bottle of whisky and to take a swig whenever there is an up skirt panty shot.

One does not simply throw in fan service to a chibi or moe style game.
Unless it's done in an innocent manner like so many Terrytoons.

No rando fanservice in this one or it's sequel from what I've seen - that's not the main selling focus of any FALCOM games - especially from this period in their game development history.

I've already played the first 1/3 of this game via a Japanese copy and the recent fan translation (still stuck in beta...likely for good now), and it's definitely worthwhile. Zwei: TII improves on most elements introduced in this game, but Zwei: TAA is a lot funnier and has a more unique soundtrack in addition to its challenge/difficulty advantage over the sequel. Falcom doesn't make guaranteed great games, but even their decent to good category (which this falls into) can surprise and impress. And the improvements XSEED and Magnetic Realms are implementing, mainly better controls and true widescreen, will make this a lot easier to get into.

Awesome! I'm loving Zwei II and will definitely look at getting this! I just hope you guys try to make the price more competitive with Steam (yes, I realise the exchange rate is a factor, but the Steam price is about half of what it is on GOG).
