Valfaris is coming soon, DRM-free.

Set in a far corner of space, Valfaris is a heavy metal infused 2D action-platformer and the next game from the team behind Slain: Back From Hell. Brutal combat. Deadly enemies. Stunning pixel art. Savage soundtrack. Get ready to rip the galaxy a new wormhole.
Got Slain in a previous chrono.gg sale, I hope they've improved controls on this one because in Slain it feels a bit meh.
It will be mine!
A little off-topic, but on the right it lists "Related Games" and shows "Encased: A Post Apocalyptic Sci-Fi RPG" but when I click it, it just takes me to the game search page. When I search for Encased, nothing comes up. Is this another release? I wanna check it out lol

It's still in early access on Steam, so if anything - it will come as "available soon" or "in development".

Sensory overload.
Definitely inspired by Slain. But where is the Linux version?
I played and finished Slain. But I truly hope the dev has learned from the biggest mistake Slain had: A too limiting set of moves. I almost think that the game originally had more moves and the dev removed them to make the game a lot harder even if the removed moves would had been the most obvious for the character to have. As I cannot believe he made it so you could not jump and dash forward. Or at least hit and block while moving . If you would had been able to do those moves it would had made the game a lot more enjoyable and a lot more than 5% of players would have actually finished that game.

I hate Slain: Back from Hell. I ragequitted from it due to how extremely super hardcore it is, in combination with its abysmal checkpoint system and total absence of any manual save system and/or quicksave/quickload system.

I'd never buy any game from these devs that doesn't have manual saving and/or quicksaving/quickloading that lets you save at any point in the game and re-load from that exact same point.

I hated the limiting set of moves the character has as that is what artificially makes it hardcore. The same is true with something like blazing chrome. But at least Blazing Chrome Devs recognize this fact. Which is why they put the reward of characters that move and attack differently once you beat it and also added an "easy" mode which is more like Normal as their Normal is what Hard would be in another game. It reminded me of Duck Tales Remastered. Another thing I hated about Slain? Slain performance is horrible for what it is. And that makes the game harder if you don't make sure you have a rock solid 60fps. Blasphemous, which is a much better game its actually extremely well optimized in comparison.

Looks like that comes to GOG too. :)
And I'm also more interested in Encased, at least when it runs on Linux.
This game indeed looks like a lot of fun.
