Imperator: Rome - The Punic Wars is coming soon, DRM-free.

When the rulers of Messana invited Roman protection for their Sicilian city, they could not have expected that they were igniting a fierce rivalry that would set the Western Mediterranean aflame for over a century. Carthage had traditionally seen Sicily as its sphere of influence and it could accept no equal on the island. Rome and Carthage would go to war in 265 BC, in the first of three wars that would finally end with the sack of Carthage in 146 BC.

This free content pack for Imperator: Rome includes new events and units models to illustrate the greatest wars of the classical age - the superpower showdown between the nascent Roman Republic, and the established Carthaginian Empire.

Well, that's the reason why this dlc is free. Besides, idk if you played, but after last two updates game became really good. You should try it after this dlc comes out. It has really good amount of nice mechanics in it by now.

Perhaps meant as a sort of apology or making up for the lackluster state of the base game at release.

Edit: Ninja'd.

At release it was ok, technical&Ui-Problems aside, if you played Rome..but you get so many support Events that you soon only wait for more mana to declare the next War.

My 2. Playthrough was as Kathargo and i gave up after some decades because it was plain boring, you had so limited controll, no flavor, no athmosphere...

People told my that i can't expect something like the 100% gold version of EU III...
Well i play EU III since release and at release all major european countrys(east europe included)+osman empire, had some special flavor with national events&desicion, it gave you the feeling that you had the strategic control, you grow YOUR Country/Empire/...

Imperator gave me the feeling that i am a clerk or a lower admin, waiting for the goverment to share some ressources with me and allways you get only a small fraction of the needed ress,...

The first time since i started playing CK I & EU I i thought about using the console for cheating instaed of debugging or RPG-Flavor...

The Punic Wars and several important historic Events should have been part of the release.
It's nice that they add it now but at least the mayor mediteran factions still need several upates before the game has release state.
the game itself was fine at launch... lack of play testing is the Paradox Achilles' heel
