A journey into psychosis.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice a stunning adventure into a shattered mind, is coming soon, DRM-free, to GOG.com.

From Ninja Theory, the creators of DmC: Devil May Cry, Heavenly Sword, and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, comes Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice – a haunting tale of Senua, a celtic warrior struggling with trauma and psychosis. It's a completely independent title that may surprise you in more than one way.

Wishlited for now until I've learned moe about the game, will watch the videos X-com linked and look for further info.
Overall I enjoyed everything Ninja Theory released in the past, so it is great to see them (and hopefully more of their earlier titles) on GOG either way.

Definately looking forward to buying this. It looks amazing!
Just looking at the trailer first it looked like a Unreal tech demo, and after watching some of their dev videos I am wondering how they consider them selves an indie?

Because they have an office, staff and equipment? They can still be a 'small' studio in the gaming industry even with those attributes.

I'd also suggest that the word 'independent' can relate to ideas and concepts. From the Dev's video available here on GOG, it's clear the aim is to produce something 'different' and, perhaps, hybrid i.e. a game which bridges the gap between the current polarities in the gaming industry.

As for the game - it looks terrific. The name of the young woman who is acting the central character isn't mentioned here, but her performance is utterly believable in the video clip. The manner in which the game is made certainly makes good use of her skill set. There is quite a cinematic feel to what I've seen.
I loved Enslaved for all the nuances and the unorthodox story telling, even when it was hidden behind a big amount of dull action tropes and tedious time sinks. Reading that this studio aims to create a title which focusses on these strengths makes me hyped! At this point, I don't even care about the gameplay!
Nice addition to a vast good old games catalog.

Still can't believe to get something like this on GoG.

Thanks.
I'm not sure if I'll enjoy the game (I'm scared too easy) but this lengthy blog entry (http://www.hellblade.com/?p=16972) makes me wanna buy that game so hard only for the effort of Ninja Theory and their idea of making games.
Thanks a lot NT!

Do these developers answer questions, or they are usually not talking to the community like legacy publishers funded ones? I couldn't find any forum on their site.

I'm definitely getting this one. After playing the hell out of Witcher 3,2,1 multiple times I'm excited to buy a new game from a THIRD-PARTY player.
Everybody's all excited & I'm sat here wondering what the game is about. Never heard of it hehe. Shall keep peepers open once it's released.

P.S. gog, knock it off with the "embedded youtube links". Those are for sites that can handle embedded links, or even forums that can. This forum can't.

Just stick to normal youtube links.

genuinely concerned that there seems to be no game play footage after all this time.
Ninja Theory is the shit and they have discovered the secret to affordable character modeling: dreadlocks.

Get your hands on Enslaved and rock it. These guys are masters.

There is some game play footage here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pV6PPpvUDJE

and there is a fair amount in the dev diaries. http://www.hellblade.com/

Hell Blade is in my wish list right now. :D

The gameplay trailers don't fill me with much confidence. The way enemies block in a fraction of a fraction of a second, but then later slog through every movement and attack is gamey as fuck and not engaging.

The trailer is gorgeous though and very enticing, precisely because doesn't involve combat.
Hordes of muppets for the player to carve through, does not a good story (or immersive game) make.

Yeah, what I've seen of the combat so far ( which wasn't much ) left me rather unimpressed. I hope the final gameplay will have more depth and variety. The art direction and overall atmosphere seem great though. I'll wait for the release and see how it turns out. Does anyone know what "coming soon" means, in this particular case? It's not the Crawl version of "soon", is it?
