Tugging at the threads of fate.

EITR, a combat-intensive tale woven within the intriguing tapestry of Norse mythology, is coming soon, DRM-free, to GOG.com.

When Loki the trickster god tampered with your Shield Maiden's fate, he forever upset the balance maintained by the great tree Yggdrasil. Study your opponents' moves, strike with cunning and vigor, and discover the destiny bestowed upon you. EITR's innovative experience system lets you choose between the safety of permanent upgrades or the gamble of powerful ones that disappear upon death, like tears in rain.

Watch the trailer.

I've been waiting for this! I'm glad to hear it is coming to GOG. :)

garrus74: I'm not against pixel art per se, but geez, it's 2017. That's a bit lazy of devs I think, if you don't have money, why not go hand-drawn higher-res or at least do better pixel art - Metal Mutant came out in 1991 and graphics there look better than this.
ppl need this cs its Pixel art..if u dont like pixels then dont bother playing it..its not about the money
its ART
Wow, the introduction is very well written too. I didn't even previously know that you could obtain upgrades that would eternally perish upon your demise, which is one of the most innovative settings I've ever encountered. I subscribed to the game on Steam, but now that GOG has it, then it is a sure purchase from GOG for me.
What I don't get about these "retro-looking" pixel-art games, is that they in fact look nothing like the old games of the 80s and 90s they're supposedly imitating. There are plenty of modern animations, filters, shades and effects that were simply unknown or impossible then. In fact, I don't think any of these games could be run acceptably in a ten-year-old PC, even less in a 25-year-old 386. So, no problem with their art and aesthetic choices, just stop using the "retro" tag for games that do not look retro at all, just because the developers opted for stylized pixelated sprite-like art. In fact, real old games of the pixel age *tried hard* not to look too pixelated!

THANK YOU. There are some guys here who think those devs back then WANTED to have low resolution.

some people still enjoy the look and feel of pixel art. i personally think this one's style looks charming and beautiful. just a matter of taste, i think.

It seems to be a lost cause to get said folks to understand that. I have to wonder how many of them have actually played and enjoyed vintage games now, let alone when they were actually out.
I have noticed that from today Eitr was quietly removed from wishlist - that entry just no longer exist.
Does it mean it will not come to GOG at all?

Release date is still officially unknown.

I knew something was missing! But couldn't point what. Also gone from steam store.

Yesterday the store page was removed from Steam too.

People started speculating about it becoming an EGS exclusive. On their discord, one of the devs said that no exclusivity was in place and that the store page is managed by Devolver. Later on, the store page become available again.

Maybe the same is happening here?

it's delisted from steam. Probably simply a dead game.

You're right. I just went to it's page through SteamDB, but searching through Steam itself, it doesn't appear.

Or the EGS exclusivity maybe is a thing. The Game Awards is right around the corner, and Epic usually has one of those reels showing exclusive games coming to their store.

Either way, I am disappointing by the lack of official communication from the devs and just quietly taking it out.
I am inclined to believe in the more pessimistic option, that being an Epic exclusive.
A dick move.

The only reason I noticed is because it was the only game on my wishlist ;)

Yeah, Epic only wish is to take vaporware, and make you cry and wait a steam release.
No, it's way simpler than that.
Game was more than 5 years in dev, recent youtube footage showed shit product, release was announced in summer of 2019, if not mistaken, only to delay the game again for one year again. Devs went radio silent for years, there was only one staff member claiming it's alive and rumors they lost funding from Devolver.

Epic won't give money for air, no matter how much they wasted money before.

On the other hand though - there's finally something happening again around EITR, and if the exclusivity bollocks turns out to be true we also get a release date (December 2021).
