Greyfox_Maquis: It would be pretty cool if SFC3 came up here and someone setup a multiverse server for it (basically a persistant world as players form fleets and expand their empires and remove others) I got SFC3 long after it was popular so i completely missed that.
You may have already tried this, but the fan community was given the server software(I think) from Taldren and they created fan patches to redirect the dynaverse. I'm not sure if these servers are still up/populated though. About two years ago I could never seem to get the SFC3 Dynaverse working right with on one of my computers due to some software conflict(probably Anti-Virus Software) . It was still up when I used another computer though

Oh, STAR TREK p&c adventure games, I would love to lay my fingers upon those.

Yeah I had a wee tinker with it to make my own server just to actually see what it was. Took a bit of fiddling to get it working though as for some reason i had to fiddle with the router settings for each client joining (when testing in a LAN) though i could never find any other servers. Shame looked like great fun!
*bump*

Curious to see if there is any updates on this.
As long as the IP rights are spread through a couple of companies, no chance. Would be nice, but i don't have high hopes for those. Too many parties involved which are making difficult to negotiate.
Yeah, I really wish GOG could get Star Trek games like Bridge Commander or Elite Force, but if there are multiple publishers it seems very unlikely. :-/
Never know. Sometimes in the corporate world, all it takes is a competitor to take a flying leap of faith and then that company needs to follow suit. Hint hint Paramount...look what Disney is doing.....

I'm not a huge ST game fan but I LOVED Elite Force.
There was also a small generic Star Trek RTS out a while ago, I think I have the disc around here somewhere, that while not very original was still fun as hell. Just being able to build Cubes and blow shit up was worth the price. I can't remember the name though.
They need to Get Final Unity

That sounds like the Star Trek Armada series! I've always wanted to try those games. Here are the wishlists for Armada 1 and Armada 2!

the rights for styar trek are also fractured
the movie rights are with paramount studios

the television series rights are with cbs corporation after viacom split off in 2005

In 2005, Viacom divided into CBS Corporation, whose CBS Television Studios subsidiary retained the Star Trek brand, and Viacom, whose Paramount Pictures subsidiary retained the Star Trek film library and rights to make additional films, along with video distribution rights to the TV series on behalf of CBS

so its an even bigger bloody mess
we need to bark at cbs corporation's door not paramount
unless you want movie games
Hmm.. with Cyberia turning up last week I DID wonder what else GOG might be able to extract from Interplay's vaults, I'd be surprised if any Star Trek games showed up though because of all the licensing issues others have pointed out...

well if they can get interplay activision cbs corporation adn paramount pictures around the table and hammer out a deal a good chunk of games might be re released
hell just interplay cbs and paramount pictures would be good for a good deal of games
That's also Simon and Schuster and a few others.

yeah btu those are more games from the 80's and a couple from the last 15 years

the twomajor ones are interplay and activision
considering activision doesnt awnser our calls anymore interplay is the better bet

( there is also a bethesda title )
