More games added: Anodyne, Escape Goat, Gemini Rue!
Do you want to make the world a slightly better place and be rewarded some games for being an awesome human being? It's simple: choose a charity you like from the three we have here (WWF, Worldbuilders, and Gaming for Good), pick out 3 games you like out of 13 offered, pay $5 or more, and we will give 100% of your donation to charity*! You can also pick more than 3 games, and your minimum donation will be raised accordingly. Want to donate more? No problem--you can set the amount manually. Don't need the games, or already have them? Select the "Gift this order" option at the checkout, and make some other gamer happy. Again, your choice of charity to help:

We've added three more titles to this special promo selection, thanks to awesome indie developers, who volunteered their games to take part in this charitable action. The newly added games are: Anodyne by Analgesic Productions, a psychological retro adventure game with nostalgic action-RPG feel and deep story, bundled with MP3 soundtrack, Escape Goat by Magical Time Bean, a captivating puzzle-platformer with many clever and challenging stages, and 8-bitish retro visuals, and Gemini Rue by Wadjet Eye Games, a gritty neo-noir point-and-click adventure game masterfully mixing Sci-Fi and crime mystery genres. Thank you for making this happen, guys!
Our whole-hearted thanks also go to: Introversion Software (Darwinia), Subset Games (FTL: Faster Than Light), Tiger Style Games (Waking Mars), Amanita Design (Botanicula), Instant Kingdom (Driftmoon), Northway Games (Incredipede), Digital Game Factory (Creatures: Village), Might & Delight (Pid), Daedalic Entertainment (The Whispered World), and Oddworld Inhabitants (Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee).. All of the devs are receiving nothing for their games in this charity but the good karma that comes from doing a good deed. Take a moment and tweet, facebook, or email them and tell them how much you appreciate their participation in this, and then you'll be extra awesome yourself. :)
*GOG.com is paying out some money as well; for every $1 donated, it costs us about $0.25 to cover the credit card fees, taxes, and other fees to make sure that literally 100% of what you donate goes to charity. So, let's say you want to donate $10. We'll add about $2.50 on top of that, to make sure that all of your donated money reaches the charity of your choice.

StickOfPlywood: If you would take a moment to consider the information I linked a couple of pages back, instead of jumping to conclusions...
avatar
CrowTRobo: I did look at the information and my point is still valid: What does drone attacks have to do with this giveaway. And furthermore, what does drone attacks have to do with the contribution info? For example, WWF contributed $10,000 to Obama's campaign. As far as I can tell, thats the sole connection. For a large charity, the amount of money spent on campaign contributions is tiny. The large sums were for lobbying. Did you look at the top lobbying issue for WWF? Environment & Superfund. Exactly what the charity is all about and what people who donate money to WWF expect it to promote. The bill they lobbied the most for? Multinational Species Conservation Funds Reauthorization Act of 2011.

StickOfPlywood: I can't understand the maelstrom of aggression and vitriol some people are directing towards this stuff... I'm continually surprised by how volatile humans can be.
avatar
CrowTRobo: I think the vitriol in some posts simply matches your own. You obviously have an anti-Obama agenda. You also seem to have an anti-US agenda. You single out that the US is on the same Heifer list as Haiti. You failed to mention all of North America is on that list (US, Canada, Mexico). Of course you have the right to your own thoughts, Its just this thread is not the proper place for it. Feel free to create a thread in the general forum where off-topic discussions go and rant about everything the US does wrong. Those of us who don't feel like getting into a political discussion can then easily skip over the thread.

Now back to the topic - thanks to GOG and the participating developers. I will be glad to contribute.
You're not only misinterpreting and twisting my words and perceptions, but not taking the data I linked into full context either... They should not be involved in political contributions or lobbying at all, not even for bills they would supposedly have a stake in backing. Not everything is as it seems.

I'll give the general discussion board a try, though. It just doesn't seem like there is any place on the internet where this sort of discussion is not shunned, tarred, and feathered.

I can't wait for stats too. I'm hoping they broke the $100k goal they had.
:( That I left it too late to give money, especially to one of my favourite charities.

Im wondering why the stats werent up during the sale (except at the real start) ?
Really great event GOG, looking forward to seeing how much was raised for some great Charities. And looking forward to the next event and hopefully even more games next time!
Next time include the EFF and I wouldn't mind Wikimedia foundation either :)
Just wanted to say that GOG support just swapped by Creatures / Waking Mars / Odd World bundle that I bought before the other 3 games were added for an Escape Goat / Waking Mars / Odd World bundle - which was awesome of them!

If the sale is closed, why is it live on the main page right now? Makes sense to, ya know, take the sale ad down if the sale is over.

Not sure what that means. If the sale isn't going on anymore, they should take it off the page.
