Soooo, yeah. As a long time 40k player, Chaos Gate has sort of been a holy grail for me. The problem is the installing.

I apologise for this, since i'm only doing this because i'm an absolute fool when it comes to installing things.
If anyone would be so kind as to:

1: Make a step by step guide installation for a Windows 8 user (Oh, and because there's so many people doing different things all at once that i'm just plain confused)
2: Answer the question of DirectX 9.0c for windows 8 as the one on Microsofts website refuses to work with said OS.
3: Wether to use GOG Galaxy to use for said OS. Primarily asked out of concern that it might mess Chaos Gate up.

Don't use Galaxy.
Manual DL and manually install from library.

Again, my lack of experience is showing. By manual DL i'm assuming you mean download it straight from the site, correct? I'm so, so sorry btw.

Yes,go to library, click game and then (more)and then DL files via browser or
Gogdowner.
Once all files are DL,to install just double click (setup) file.

I always use it for smaller downloads (less than 1 GB), because it's the most direct method.
Rather confused about the library thing since i don't see it anywhere.

Account (upper right corner of this site) --> library --> now click on the game you want to download. A pop-up opens. Download the files under Game Downloads (left side) by clicking on them (some games are splitted in more files).

exactly :)
if that somehow should cause problems (wouldn't know how) here's the link to download the windows installer of chaos gate:

https://www.gog.com/downlink/warhammer_40000_chaos_gate/en1installer3

can't help with win8 though if there should be any problems, since I'm a linux person myself.
You guys are great, y'know that? You're not like the typical person who uses vague suggestions or outright insults you.
On the game card it says that the game works with windows 8. So there shouldn`t be a problem.

Unfortunately, read the reviews.
But then there are other Windows 8 users who say they can run it? Can anyone confirm?
