As promised, we have really great offers for you to celebrate the biggest gaming event in Europe - GamesCom in Cologne, Germany, for those of you who don't know what we're talking about. Not one, but two promos are running on GOG.com this week! First and foremost you can now grab the one and only The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings for only $29.99 (40% off the regular price)! The game that received IGN, GameSpot, GamePro and many others Editor’s Choice mentions and is believed by many to be on of the best PC titles of the year, is now available for the most affordable price you can find!

Additionally to this offer, we're having a 40% discount on games that enjoyed great success in Germany back in the good old days. You can grab Jagged Alliance 1 for $3.59 and Jagged Alliance 2 for just $5.99; Battle Isle Platinum for $5.99, Realms of Arkania 1 and 2 for $3.59, Realms of Arkania 3 for $3.59 and Master of Orion 1+2 for $3.59. This way everyone around the world can enjoy this gamer’s holiday even if you're not attending the show.

Both promotions end on Monday, August 22 at 3:59 a.m. (7:59 a.m. GMT), so don't wait and save those monies!
Let's just be frank. (or teppo).. That's a good deal. I already own that so it's not news to me. But, when they added that hairstyle changing from some dwarf. Now I look like geralt from the first and mysteriously, game seems like more witcherisque than before.

Edit: I'm playing hard so I occasionally take a beating from nekkers or anything that moves. Well, in that one quest, which is optional.. I'll take a good beating everytime no matter what I try but, it's carry on with those main things. But still, those f.cking spectres..

Aw crap, didn't think Witcher 2 would ever appear in a special this soon.

deadfolk: Must...not...buy...Battle...Isle...

Must...

grviper: It's not only Battle Isle, you get the WW1 game as well :)
Actually, it's Incubation I really want. I played it back in the day, but could never remember what it was called. Probably still have the (unplayable) discs in the loft.

Never made the connection until today, when I looked at the screenshots on the product page.
I wish I could grab Realms of Arkania 1, 2 and 3 (even Battle Isle Platinum would be nice to try), but with a recent move and the M&M promo awhile back, no more money for games for awhile. :(
I may get MOO and Battle Isle. Although I think 60% for grabbing them all would have been better.

I may yet pass and wait for a better deal in the future.. but I've yet to see MOO on sale more than 40% off. Still yet, I can see it being 40% off again during a Christmas sale, so I don't see why this promo is so special.

Also, I expect this cancels out the weekend promo too.. so that's two promos (60% to 75% off one bi-monthly title, and the weekend 40 to 60% off) shot down for a mere 40% discount. Blegh..
Already own all of the titles in the promo

So it looks like I'll be saving my money for another time =)

Though everyone who hasn't bought Wicher 2 yet should definitely do so - Fantastic game, especially with the 2.0 Patch incoming soon and Future free DLC
Awesome, I nabbed Witcher 2 on release, but this is a great deal!
This is what I was talking about when Steam had their sale.

Done deal!
Here's a question for my fellow GOGers. Should I buy the Witcher 2, even though I have neither the first game, nor am found of the action RPG genre itself (although I do like Two Worlds), or should I wait for a year or two and wait for the price to lower itself, while getting the first Witcher during its next sale?

crazy_dave: Nice offer GOG! Pity I have the games I want from this sale. :)

You didn't get my backlog bigger this time!!!! Yay for wallet.

Elle85: Nooooooooooooooooooooo :( Bought the witcher 2 last week from gamesgate for about the same price (and a stupid DRM) :(

crazy_dave: The patches on CD Projekt's website for The Witcher 2 should remove whatever DRM is on your version - unless it is a client-thing like Steam? Although I thought gamersgate didn't have that?
yes it should, but when my pc isn't online my game crash, not a big problem but it's a bit annoying.

Well you could get The Witcher on sale for $4 from Gamersgate right now, not sure how much that is for someone from your country right now. (or ask GOG to price match, I already sent them a message telling them about this sale)

I THINK there is a demo for The Witcher (not sure about the second). Download that and try it out over this weekend. If you like it, then get the game while it is $30, assuming you would be playing it rather soon. If you wont be playing it for a few months you might be able to get it even cheaper then.
I just barely got started on Zork I, my backlist it getting so long, but I think I'm going to jump into Witcher 2 right away.
Witcher 2: Would like to buy it from GOG if I ever do, but I bought W1 on a Steam (or was it D2D?) sale and haven't had a chance to get into it yet. I don't want to buy W2 until I know if W1 suits my tastes.

Battle Isle: Never really heard of this, so I think I'll avoid adding to my backlog.

JA1: Tried this a while back and didn't like it, so I'll pass.

JA2: Got this from GOG last time it was on sale :)

Arkania: Thinking of picking these up. They've come up a lot when looking for good DOS RPGs, but I've never played them.

MOO: Thinking of picking these up too. Never played these but have been hearing about how good they are since they were new.
Aw. Now I want a big version of the image are using for their Witcher 2 discount banner on the GOG homepage.
Wow, thanks Gog! Witcher 2 was on sale on Steam a while back, and I almost pulled the trigger, but I thought to myself: "No, no...buy it from Good old Games when they put it on sale."

Glad I waited! Your price is better, and DRM free makes this the easiest purchase ever.

I haven't even finished the first one yet....I know what I'm doing this weekend :D
