As promised, we have really great offers for you to celebrate the biggest gaming event in Europe - GamesCom in Cologne, Germany, for those of you who don't know what we're talking about. Not one, but two promos are running on GOG.com this week! First and foremost you can now grab the one and only The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings for only $29.99 (40% off the regular price)! The game that received IGN, GameSpot, GamePro and many others Editor’s Choice mentions and is believed by many to be on of the best PC titles of the year, is now available for the most affordable price you can find!

Additionally to this offer, we're having a 40% discount on games that enjoyed great success in Germany back in the good old days. You can grab Jagged Alliance 1 for $3.59 and Jagged Alliance 2 for just $5.99; Battle Isle Platinum for $5.99, Realms of Arkania 1 and 2 for $3.59, Realms of Arkania 3 for $3.59 and Master of Orion 1+2 for $3.59. aluinie: Hi back hope you guys are having good fun in Cologne.

Have a pint on me :)

Ubivis: You can't have a pint in cologne, just Kölsch :) Which is nothing less than yellow water :D (Okay, the people from cologne here will hate me for this *gg*).

If you want good beer, come to the north of germany ;)
Aye German beer is great always been keen on trying the local stuff when i have been to Germany.

The funny thing is that many people believe this, but after some of glasses with coloured water they are the first out of order ,-)

About the second part of your post, I prefer the south. So, everybody - go west, go sout, but avoid the north ;-)

TheEnigmaticT: Oh, and hi from Cologne everyone!
Watch your backside while there. xD
Oh, and make sure you sample some Döner.
I was worried after yesterdays announcement that I was gonna get flat broke, but I already own TW2 and none of the other games tickle my fancy
It's a fine promo, the W2 price is tempting but still, I can find it in retail online for pretty much around that price, so I'll pass.
40% off is a significant discount. Though I'm nowhere near finishing the first Witcher, I now own Witcher 2. Nicely done, GOG.

Or simply stay with Czech brands... the cradle of (good) beer!
Good promo. I'm buying Witcher 2 (with Witcher 1), even though I don't probably have fast enough PC yet to play it. Can't pass this good deal even if I won't start playing it right away.

Luxury that I don't have with Steam games.

Zkuq: Not bad... I suppose. But you can get The Witcher 2 for the same price online. It's not even a sale, it's the usual price.
Online, ie. rent it?

This is a totally DRM-free version which in itself adds at least $30 to the value of Witcher 2, compared to the strings-attached versions in Steam etc. So basically GoG is actually giving you money when buying Witcher 2 from them!

Oh heck, maybe I'll buy the Realms of Arkania 1-3 games too. I had to check MobyGames for the reviews, I presume I'll find them enjoyable enough to warrant using a few bucks on them.

Master of Orion 1-2 I bought already here (even though I have MOO2 Windows version on CD-ROM already; but I heard this DOS version in GoG is better?), and for some reason I'm not really interested in Jagged Alliance games. I think I may have some of them on CD-ROM, not sure...

Regarding pils beer I also prefer the czech brands. Don't know why, but I was never a friend of german pils Btw, what was the topic of this thread?

In theory I am now a happy owner of the Witcher 2 (and also bought Master of Orion 1+2 although I allready have the later of the two on cd somewhere).

In practice I even was for some minutes. Looked at the new shiny digital boxes in my digital shelf. Tried to download the extras for MoO1+2 and got an error message.
"Well, well" I thought. "Maybe something strange happened on the server side. Maybe a temproary problem. Better get the garden mowed before noon and try again later."

It is later now. Not only the extras aren't accessable for me, both games have disappeared from my shelf.

This must be an evil plot. Sabotage! While the gog-crew is out of the house somebody must have broken into the server and stolen my games! Somebody call the frrench monk!

Same here .... GOG is lacking behind in its ability of siphoning money out of my wallet :)

seikilos: snip
I bought Battle Isle and have no problems. You really need to contact GOG about that.
