You guys are on the RPS.

Steam-free, yes, but I mean a proper Steam-free release. Without achievements and similar things, totally clean code (like there never was a Steamworks release).

If it is just stripped down like what Impulse offers sometimes, no thanks, I can crack the Steam requirement on my own.

Some guys here are going to die early if the slightest thing that should be implied (drm-free) makes them go into panic mode.

I hope they are but I doubt it. They're a real bunch of swell guys, but they really lack the drive and ambition of Steam, and GOG to some extent. Hopefully with the downfall of Impulse, it will lead to better things for GG.

Anyway I'm digressing. What I like about this expansion of GOG, apart from the lack of a shocker PR stunt, is that if it pulls off sales-wise, it may well convince the moneyheads who are too high up the board room to pay attention to their consumer base that DRM-free has more than just fringe benefits.

Of course it may take a lot more time than expected since Twitcher 2's sales proved otherwise, but I'm optimistic.

That is good to hear. Generally I trust you guys, but it was just odd that this never game up in the press release.

On second thought, maybe it wasn'tmentioned explicit so you don't scare all those new juicy publishers away....

I can see even bigger "problem" - with fresh games, new, "young" people will come to GOG - that could have serious impact on GOG's present friendly community... :(

When the website saw a massive increase in users and posters here on the forums there were people who complained and moaned how the "Community is ruined" and the "New GOG sucks"

I have a lot of games with DRM that I have passed on... if you pick the right titles, I'm gonna be broke! (but what a ride it will be).

Also very happy to hear that the old games will keep coming. Say that phrase loudly when you speak it as some aren't hearing it very well :p

I welcome this decision. As long as GOG remains GOG and there's at least a separate section/site for newer games under one umbrella (your account is a GoodGames account, split into a GOG shelf and GNG shelf, for example, and GNGs eventually become GOGs!).

I wonder what price points will be set.
