BKGaming: Read between the lines, in my view there making fun of DRM and those who use it, saying it's effective only to legitimate consumers, but pirates still pirate with no hoops to jump through... so GOG has the "key" for you so you also have no hoops to jump through.
Interpretation man, interpretations. But we have already discussed this to dealth. :P
synfresh: But yet they happily sell their DRM-ed game on Steam??? Doesn't the retail copy require a GoG account to even get the patch(s)?
Okay you are using the word DRM but I don't think you really get what that means. 1st the Steam version of Witcher 3 doesn't require Steam to play just like the retail and GOG versions doesn't require GOG/Galaxy to play so how the fuck is that DRM? DRM isa systematic approach to copyright protection for digital media. The purpose of DRM is to prevent unauthorized redistribution of digital media and restrict the ways consumers can copy content they've purchased.
Can you copy the retail version of the Witcher 3 without having to jump through some hoop? yes? then there is no DRM, can you play it without using Galaxy? yes? then it's not DRM.
Now the early retail pre-release versions which require a unlock file to play you may have a arugement there but outside of that there is no DRM on Witcher 3, having patches released through GOG is not DRM. If you honestly think that then you are just being silly.
