Captain Sapphire, beloved children’s entertainer of yesteryear, stumbles up the steps to his apartment. He’s still sore from his painful experience at the Starmaker’s: Re-living the glory days, offered the chance to be an inspiration again, to be a hero, and then having it taken away. He lets himself into his little brown rooms, dingy and damp, and throws himself onto a collapsed couch. Silent tears dribble down his face as he swings from a bottle of lemonade. About twenty minutes pass by before he heaves himself to his feet and totters over to the corner of the room, where he throws open a cupboard. He pulls out some dusty cardboard boxes and pokes about in them until he finds a video tape in a white cardboard sleeve, yellowed from age. He pulls a tape machine out of the cupboard and, with some difficulty, hooks it up to his little boxy telly. He pushes the button on the machine, and the tape whirs up. His own face, over a decade younger, fills the screen.

Captain Sapphire glares across the landscape. Gravely he announces,

"When people work together in the name of good they can do wonderful things, but when people collude in evil it may seem there is no limit to the evil they can do. These three villains-

He stops the tape and presses a different button. The machine makes a scribbly squeaky noise as the cassette rewinds.

Inky blackness, logos from the film and production companies fade in and out, then a shift and a multitude of distant stars slide into view. A moment of stillness, then a small blue comet edges in from the right and traces its way across the screen, leaving a gleaming, spreading tail of bright blue. Tinkly bells gently play a familiar tune - you recognise suddenly the theme tune from the old Captain Sapphire show. From left and right the words CAPTAIN SAPPHIRE slide in and join just as the comet meets the centre of the screen. With a dazzling flash of light they merge into the hexagonal CS emblem. With a great orchestral crash a spray of glittering blues launches across the screen, bearing with them 'THE MOVIE' in bold, lurid letters. The music is valiant and grandiose as the title holds the screen.

As the titles fade away, the raucous brass is swept away by eerie flutes, the comet slips out of view as the camera shifts again, coming to focus on a close blue-green planet. Slowly the planet grows in size as the camera moves closer, until it covers the screen, and, picking up speed, the image zooms, until we can make distinguish features of the landscape, then a city. We rocket towards the city, the camera shaking alarmingly, honing in on an enormous gleaming black tower, flanked by glittering marble colossae. As the camera twists to the front of the building, backed by brilliant red sunrise over a highly advanced metropolis, the words "Contra Astraos - Headquarters of the Saviours of the World." type across the screen.

A player who is being voted for by the majority of living players will be immediately unmasked, their role will be made public knowledge, and the game will go to the action phase.A player may also vote no-unmasking. All players have received a role. Here is a sample role:

Hello TheGOGfather, you are Winnie Safiros, Frictionless Commuter, Team Heroes.

It's been a long time since you handed your identity over to the current Captain Sapphire and became the admiral of the Contra Astraos, but you still remember a thing or two. You are determined that the villains will not get control of your fleet.

Powers: In the action phase you can use your Super Sapphire Mist to become totally invisible making any other power targetting you fail. Your Super Sapphire Slink also prevents your abilities being re-targetted by pesky busdrivers, redirectors and reflectors. Useful! Like all players, you may also be subject to secret modifiers! These will alter your role without your knowledge, and will be revealed publicly with your role upon elimination.

HypersomniacLive don't read this post!.

We cut to the interior of the Contra Astraos, the control centre to be precise, a gleaming circular hub of modules, set around a towering central pillar, festooned with screen, wires and glowing nodes. Rigging supports several technicians, crawling over the impressive engine like ants over a twig.

A close up of a firm-faced, mature woman with a mediterranian appearance, waves of grey cascading through her auburn hair. Her bearing is military and her eyes are fixed and piercing. A lilting voice from off-camera speaks.
"Oh, and Admiral Safiros?"
"Yes, Vice-Mayor Mahmood?"
"The people have a lot of faith in your administration. I expect you to fix the mess you've gotten yourself into, before it gets out of hand."
From behind Winnie Safiros we get a clear view of an enormous monitor, displaying a wealthy, elegant woman in formal attire. The monitor reads "COMMS ACTIVE - GOVERNMENT HOUSE, TRONDIRE CITY - SARINA MAHMOOD"
"You can count on me, Vice-Mayor. Our top team is assembling as we speak."
"I truly hope I can."
As the monitor goes black Admiral Safiros turns toward the camera with a grimace. She mutters.
"First Police Governor Boothe is breathing down my neck insisting on a complete investigation, now the Vice Mayor is trying to direct. Do they think I'm going to just sit around twiddling my thumbs?"
A robotic voice replies from off-camera
"People are losing faith in the Saviours, Admiral Safiros."
"Yes, well we're not quite crumbling at the joints yet." She barks out a short laugh.

A gentle voice echoes about the hall.
"Alpha team approaching,"
"Here they come," growls Safiros, then her voice fills the hall, "All units attention."

A Chrome hatch in the roof slides open, and, one by one, costumed figures drop into the space from high above. These are the front-line of the Saviours of the World, the most advanced forces in the galaxy. First to arrive is Monsiour Moutard, hitting the ground heavily with a shockwave that sends up dust and sparks. The air about him quivers with heat as he stands, adjusts his dapper yellow suit and tailcoat, tightens his black gloves, places an elegant finger to the edge of his yellow mask and sweeps into a flourishing salute.

With a crash like thunder ThrashSeal appears in view, not an inch of him visible that isn't tattooed or pierced, the rest of him coated in heavy studded leather, or hidden beneath his monstrous spiky beard. The eyes behind the pink-and-green mask sparkle with energy and he lets out a roar of laughter before taking his place.

The Supplement swoops down, red cape billowing out behind him, making a striking contrast with his gleaming white armour, his red-and-white pill shaped headpiece completes the ensemble. He sinks to the ground, rehostlers his twin guns and maintains a stern appearance.

[i]Suddenly our view twists as something almost invisible sweeps past at tremendous speed. First one way, then the next, we still can't catch it, until a flurry of movement materialises Zephyr from thin air - clad in skintight grey and blue spandex, his platinum hair streams out from under his crystal mask in great waves.

Something reaches round a huge green-gloved hand from behind Zephyr, and pokes him on the shoulder. He turns, but it's vanished. He twists round in the air, revealing the bright, multicoloured clown - Frantic Antics - clinging to his back, giggling like crazy. As Zephyr cranes his neck round to catch sight of her, she surges up, placing a comically-large shoe on the mop of hair and leaps toward the camera, flinging steamers into the air behind her. She falls with a bump onto her posterior, and scrabbles to her feet with a chortle, her shapeless circus-tent of a suit wobbling into position. She salutes, the illusion of precision lasting a few moments before her laughing head drops onto the floor.

As our gaze pans down, we're distracted by a wiggling movement down on the ground, something green about the size of a penny is waving. Suddenly it leaps up into the camera and the impressive physique of Micro Fist is visible in all its glory - rippling stacks of muscles, packed into a forest green leotard, his scarlett boxing gloves a mere blur of speed.

A severe-looking black boot steps into frame, and we pan up past tan safari trousers and a dark brown tweed jacket to the unmistakable mask of Inkblot - those two blossoming sprays of black which somehow remind you of your parents, a pretty butterfly and deep, deep shame all at the same time. His cold eyes evaluate your reaction from behind the vizor.

The air takes on a chill appearance, and frost patterns begin to form on surfaces. With a startling movement the black, shimmering form of Serpent Rime snaps up from below. His cobra's hood flares as his forked tongue tastes the air around him, before he dives down onto the floor and slithers into his place.

Gentle harp music announces the entrance of The Canton Calf, resplendant in red silk and gold, his golden calf's-head mask nods sagely as it regards the room. Strong but gentle fingers touch the strings of his long, bladed harp and play The Canton Calf off to his position.

With most of the team assembled, The Hypersomniac drifts across the group. Wearing padded purple armour, and a black sleep mask, his body, suspended in the air, sprawls at odd angles. A trail of drool hangs from his lips like spider silk. Several of the other heroes guide their slumbering ally to his position in the gathering.

Suddenly, an object like an asteroid smashes into the centre of the gathering sending everybody flying. In the centre of the confusion the great bulk of Koro-Koro Tank - 12 feet tall, covered head to foot in boulder-like formations, each arm ending in the nozzle of a cannon that would make a battleship proud - slowly rises and gives a salute.

Finally, a spectral form, white drifting robes falling to tatters mounted by a sightless rust-coloured skull, drifts over the group. DeadProng raises his grisly black trident, set with the eyeball of grace, and leads the team in a perfect group salute.

Admrial Safiros looks down at the group.
"I have grave news, Saviours. The first is that your team captain, Captain Sapphire, cannot be with us. WinTHCorp - our greatest benefactors - have requested him personally for a super-secret mission in outer space. We recieved word from WinTHCorp President, Henrietta Akalo, that the Captain has been successfully briefed, and has taken to his mission without fear. In his absence, however I know I can count on my team to work together, as always, to save the day.
"There is far graver news, however. Beatrice. Roll%999,999,999."
The robotic voice responds immediately, "303,582,618"

The Supplement takes a step forward, "Admiral, what are you-"
Safiros' voice cuts him off "Beatrice, port to new co-ordinates."
The control centre is instantly flooded with bright white light.
We see the cityscape, the tall tower, backed by the now-risen sun. In a moment it is incandescent, and another moment it is gone completely.

Space, deep, empty, inky-black. The words "Universal co-ordinates 303-582-618" type across the screen.

With a flash, Contra Astraos appears. It turns gently, a large portion of its hub fragmenting away.

The control centre is in chaos, damage reports flash and sirens blare, the gentle robot voice directs technical units to areas. The team of Saviours is in uproar. With rage in her voice, the admiral bellows.
"All units attention.
Our information specialists have intercepted an insurgent force working within the Saviours. We have traced the anomaly to this team. Your mission is this:

UNMASK THE SPIES WORKING WITHIN THE TEAM

Admiral Safiros looks bleak as she stares past the camera. "I only hope that Captain Sapphire is safe from the enemy's grasp..." A reactor collapses behind her.
I am first!

Vote scene
Already and scene is voted. I feel like joining in with the vote, just to see him say "You fuckers" once again, but I swear I am not that cruel.

Then again, I'll abstain from voting now. I'm new to this, after all.
AWESOME! I do not know who is this scum that is treaching us but it it means he or they are now closed in with me!

What? No. Note lack of bold.

This is an experiment.

Crap. I swear I thought only bolded votes count. But looking at rule 3 it's not explicitly mentioned.

Just to make sure it's a fake vote.

Vote scene
Damn you! I wanted to vote Scene, since I hope he is scum! ;-)

So I'll vote ZFR instead. For trusting a RNG after Beatrice just RNG-ed us into space in the random middle of nowhere.

@mod: do we have to unvote before re-voting someone else? Or does a new vote automatically replace previous votes?
Also, do we need to bold votes.
Also, is Zephyr scum?
Ah. In that case:

unvote ZFR

vote Scene ... I hope you are scum this time, Scene. Are you?
I received lots of flak for using random.org for voting. So this time I'm using it but not voting. So we can compare and see if using random.org is really detrimental to town.
