So far, I have brought 29 GOG games during the Summer Sale :)

Gog has by far the superior games!
Interesting comment. Just looking at Steams sales for today, I don't see Cities Skylines, Shadow of Mordor, Counter Strike or any of the Borderlands games on GoG. Superior is in the eye of the beholder.

Right now gog.com is not selling Borderlands, Borderlands 2 or Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, but TellTale Games is going to be releasing all of their video games for sale on gog.com and Tales from the Borderlands will be sold on gog.com soon.

Also if more and more PC gamers keep purchasing video games from gog.com we gog.com will get more AAA video games sold here.

There's like 8 AAA video games released for sale right now on gog.com.
Te-e-e-echnically, I still have games on Steam wishlist, games that are not on GOG (yet?). But as none of them are featured this sale (well, they are 50% off, but that's still not good enough for me), yeah, I think I'll pass it this time.

Well Counter-Strike isn't here because it's from Valve. And Boringlands isn't here because gog has a bit of a quality standard ;)

When it comes to old classics, gog is superior since they simply have more of those titles and you get all kinds of extra stuff.
My count is: 97 games bought during the gog summer sale, 1 bought during the steam summer sale (and that's only because Eador was cheaper on Steam)

darthspudius: lol screw you butt hole! (and thank you! :P)

Cities is still only 33% off, Mordor is still 50% off. Ghah.

I would have bought them if I haven't been on spending spree. Just bought another pair of games Legend of Korra and Deadcore they're so damn cheap, ~~" so can't justify spending more today.

150 USD approx after conversion. 7 days to go. Ugh Gaben.

If you're referring to the avatar, I changed it to reflect the "cyborg" addition to my signature (which, in turn, appeared after I've been mistaken for a robot on RU forum... that's kind of an inside joke).
I still enjoy playing D2 as much as I did back when I was "wearing" Holy Avenger as my userpic. :-)

I picked up Cities even at 33%, it's worth $19.99

Ah, it's only 11 USD approx after conversion for my IDR region.

The only thing I fear is... it's Paradox. Paradox means bunch of DLCs. I was burned by Crusader King 2 already - they're punishing early birds by discounting less... much cheaper for late birds to buy 'complete' pack. GG paradox.
Steam sales have been a lot less interesting these past few years. I think it's because of the whole devaluating of games debate. Publishers don't want people to only buy during steam sales so they lower the discounts. I would actually be interested to see how much less they sell because of this during the sales and if that equals to a lower profit overall or if the higher prices make sure they make more profit...
Current score in the GOG vs Steam summer play-offs:

11:2

looking good for GOG :)

aluinie: Been replacing my steam games with gog versions when they come out spending less and less time on steam now and as more games come here it will end up being less money for gabe and co.
avatar
legopig: Fail to see the logic in buying something twice especially when you still have access to the game.
To get away from DRM limitations. Most of the big budget games on Steam are DRM encumbered. Personally, I rebuy high quality Steam games on GOG whenever possible. Crazy sales like this one are an ideal time for that.

two reasons for rebuilding my library is

1 DRM being DRM free solves a number of problems DRM systems can cause game slow down or technical issues.
2. Trust to be honest i have lost trust in steam with their policies such as paid mods and the abundance of rubbish onto their services. Also the fact if something happened with your account your screwed while here you have a backup of your games on a hard drive so can play whenever.
