Hi there I recently recieved a gift card from Walmart. I HAVE registered the gift card at Walmartgift.com

However, I have tried several times to purchase a game from GOG.com, however after I enter all my card information it says "There has been an error: this could be caused by one of two things 1# Some of the information you posted was incorrect(The only thing that could possibly be incorrect is my name, because everything related to the card and numbers was entered correctly.) or 2# The bank has blocked your transaction(for some reason.)

Honestly WHAT the hell? What am I entering wrong? Is the name supposed to by my mom's name because she bought the card? Or can you just NOT use a gift card to buy from GOG.com
For all I know, GOG.com will only accept visa, paypal and mastercard.
Great. So gift cards are even MORE useless, and If I want a game from GOG. I'm basically going to have to bug my mom to buy it for me?

Its a gift card for a specific place, not worldwide use. Whats wrong with people these days... :(

KillerKrieg: BTW(Not that this makes much difference) It IS a Visa Walmart gift card.
Its probably only for the US. ;)

Sorry, I wasn't aware GOG.com wasn't a part of the United States. The gift card says it is to be used both in stores and to make purchases online, and is applicable to most of the united states.
Thank you for answering my question and ending the torment of getting constantly rejected by GOG, though.

A very similar question was answered by a member of the GOG.com team (Destro) here: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/new_user_question/post2.

Walmart is one of the most truly evil corporations on the planet. I'm sorry for your luck, but I'd recommend donating the card to your local homeless shelter, and earning yourself some Karma points.
It should work.... I used the very same kind of card to purchase stuff from amazon

Amazon.com presumably, which is in the US. GOG.com is not.

p.s. Are you a member of the Telltale forums by any chance? Your username rings a bell.

I was until some bastard moderator decided to play favorites (I.e. his friend was being a bitch so I called her out on it) & perma banned me.
Thank all of you for the definitive answers. Oh and Rabblevox, I considered your preposal, but somehow I'd imagine the homeless would club me like a baby seal with the card, for they may find it to be even more useless as currency than I do.

I'm going to steal that. "I'll club you like a baby seal!"
Didn't paypal had this thing where you could link a US bank account with your paypal account allowing you to add funds and stuff? You should look into that, i really wanted to try that a long time ago but since i'm in Chile i couldn't.
