I have same frontpage issue when using IE 8 :
"- The left/right arrows on the big game banner
- The tabs ("New & Coming", "Recommended", etc.) over the game list, as well as the game genre selector"
+ no use clicking the big top banner "offer" as that does not work either...
+ also at frontpage http://www.gog.com/ there is no longer any link at in I.E. 8 to "my account" that only appears when on other pages than front page.....

(I do not know if it is a problem with the page scripting on GOG , security settings in I.E. 8 or my AV or Firewall or their plugins - I think that I have turned off the AV plugins already)

But I can also confirm that the page works fine for me in FireFox 11 .

I think that my I.E. 8 settings are standard and I uses I.E. 8 for most things so this is kind of annoying.....

My setup is (as usual at present , Win XP Pro SP 3 & I.E. 8 , Sun Java , Zonealarm Firewall and AVG Free Antivirus 2012 - I have turned off the AVG "Do not track" plugin)

The page scripting at GOG.com forum has always had some minor issues with links and stuff like that - I remeber struggeling with many posts to try to make it appear right/be right , I think that I sometimes had to give up......
I have however not done a lot of HTML wrapping on the forum pages lately so I can't vouch for if there are any existing issues and if so which.....

I just realised something (but don't have the energy to go through and update the list so I'll just post it here), and I'm not even sure it should be categorised as a bug, but whatever.

The Heroes of Might and Magic V shelf infobox has a very interesting section titled "My serial number".

I see a couple things in this:
1. They do have an "automatic key assignment" system set up (something people have been asking for since the first games requiring key for multiplayer were released here).
2. either of:
2a. HoMM5 requires unique serials (else GOG would have included them pre-set-up like they do for Neverwinter Nights), which in turn would mean it checks the serials centrally (ie, not DRM-free). (unlikely, given their stance)
or
2b. HoMM5's keys are only used for Multiplayer, like Neverwinter Nights and they simply haven't bothered to include (or conciously excluded) NwN in said automatic key system (why?).

Apparantly the issue I earlier described/confirmed seems to have ben fixed now , at least for me in I.E. 8 on Win XP Pro.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but the "Recommended" and "On Sale" tabs on the front page have a bug.

Normally when you click on them you see a list of games. However, go to the "New & Coming" tab, click a genre, and go back to "Recommended" or "On Sale". They will be blank. The process may have to be repeated a few times (switch back to "all genres", change tabs, change to a genre, change tabs), but eventually they will be blank.

At least it's behaving that way for me now. Firefox 11.0, Win 7x64

The first time it happened to me right away (at least I don't remember tab-dancing), but when I went type up the bug listing and how to duplicate it, it didn't appear without going back and forth. So yeah, it ends up being a contender for the "most contrived bug" award.

Provoke is definitely correct for something that ended up looking so contrived as it is. I'm certainly glad someone else can confirm it because when I got done typing it up I thought, "this looks like one crazy bug report... who would use the site like this normally?" I just think it's funny, that's all. Again, no offense or annoyance.

As for your bug report then how other people would "normally" use the site is in principle not important because it is important that GOG.com becomes aware of bugs/flaws in their page scripts.

I am defenitely a very atypical user of many things so I have found bugs in many things (or notices things) that others might never have found out...... I can be quite persistent... I even once found a bug in (the logic execution of) a home computer language that had had millions of users of which some were enthusiasts and no one seemed to have discovered the bug previously.....

Companies that have bugs in be that page scripts , software , hardware , electronic devices and so on ought always only be very grateful that intelligent people makes them aware of flaws in whatever.....
Very many big companies will never get a "bug report" from me as I am tired and won't be their free consultant anymore , however sometimes I have to as their behaviour or their products flaw has enough impact fort me to be annoyed enough.....

Anyway , you should never excuse if you think that your use of something is atypical if you find a flaw by atypical use. GOG.com I am very sure understands this, but only by squashing "bugs" will the company fully learn to be able to master whatever it is that it does.
A lot of companies do not find it worth their while or think that consumers should be happy if they get their device , software or whatever fixed , I pity those as one learns a lot about what one deals with by tracing and locating bugs....
Ofcourse some bugs might be perceived as having a minimum impact on customers but I think that the bug you found is valid and one that GOG.com might wanna get rid of.....

I know. I work as a programmer and the fact that I called it contrived and said it was found outside of what I'd consider "normal usage" wasn't intended to belittle the fact that there was a bug. Of course, all bugs should be fixed after considering the time needed, money required, and user impact.

I have two problems/bugs:
1. I was editing my GOGMix "GOG games using DOSBox" to add the latest DOSBox game, "Theme Hospital", but after saving and the subsequent reloading I received a 404 error message indicating, that the GOGmix is simply gone.

This is pretty annoying since I put a lot of work into maintaining this GOGMix and apparently this list is of great interest to others as well:

In general, creating and editing GOGMixes is very buggy and uncomfortable, especially for such long lists as this.

2. So I was trying to contact GOG about this through the "contact us" function in the support section, but after filling everything out and pressing "send", I don't get a confirmation that my message has been sent, instead it seems to restart the process with "Select type of your inquiry".

I'm using Firefox 11.0 on Windows 7 Home Professional 64 bit.

They have probably gotten your message , they have never given any automatic confirmation that your message were sent or received...
I have suggested to support thät they obviously ought to add a confirmation message for sent/received when people have clicked send and "support" responded "that they were working on it"....
