Unfortunately it's Steam only. Is there any movement with convincing 2K to release their games on GOG?

UPDATE: please comment here to let 2K know you are interested:

Cool! While I would like to have 2k here at GOG, I already own the whole Bioshock franchise on steam (+ Bioshock 1 DRM free from Humble).

Either way, I'm excited to see yet another great game on Linux.

2K should get a better idea that a lot of Linux users actually aren't using Steam, so they are missing out on many sales.

I doubt we'll know anything until it suddenly appears here one morning, like Warner Bros and Paradox...
The Bioshock series is the best! I've only played the first 2 games, but I keep hoping GOG can get this series! Bioshock 1 was incredibly atmospheric with its underwater dystopia and its sweeping music. But the DRM on Bioshock was pretty bad, and it would be great to finally see these games DRM-free!
I wonder if BioShock Infinite will looks like DirectX 9.0c on Linux, since Wine does not support DirectX 11 and eOn I believe also does not support DirectX 11.

BioShock Infinite on Windows is DirectX 11 only as far as I know.

I am betting it's a Metro: Last Light Situation where Metro: Last Light on Linux is missing a lot of graphical options. No idea what Metro: Last Light Redux has on Linux.

As usual my Windows is better than Linux comments. Windows 10 will end up being 40%+ of the PC gamer market in 2 years or 3 years all while Linux will still be at 1%.

I had a chance to buy the first Bioshock on Humble Bundle while it was sold there DRM-free for a short time. I started playing it recently (in Wine) actually and it's indeed a very atmospheric game. Bioshock Infinte sounds like a great game too, but with it being sold with DRM only, I'm not going to play it until it will appear on GOG.

eON does support DirectX 11 (not fully, but in the scope of games they are porting). They already spoke about it in the past. Unlike Wine, eON doesn't need to implement the whole API. They just implement strictly what's used by a certain game on demand. It makes it much easier for them.

With Windows 10 MS will shoot themselves in the foot. People won't be eager to upgrade to some new Windows which will be required for DX12. On the other hand Vulkan will work on all versions of Windows and on Linux and OS X. Which will result in DX being used less and more potential for cross platform games.

Was that Humble version truly DRM-free though? When I see Bioshock listed as "DRM-free" in the Humble Store, it says activation and Steam are needed in the System Requirements.

I've always preferred system shock over bioshock.

It's not sold there anymore. What's currently in the Humble Store is a Steam version. The one they sold then was a truly DRM-free release. It was a part of one time bundle which is not available now.

Is there a reason why it was only DRM-free for a limited time? Why would they lose that version on the Humble Store?

I can't comment on the DRM-Free version sold in the store. Like shmerl I purchased it during the bundle. The store version and the bundle version may well be the same. If they are, the bundle version is completely DRM free, and it works perfectly with WINE.

Edit: Ninja'd, and with more / better info.

No idea. I get an impression a lot of these major publishers have some irrational fear of releasing their titles DRM-free. Irrational because it goes against all common sense.

This one doesn't say anything about DRM-free, so it's not:
https://www.humblebundle.com/store/p/bioshockinfinite_storefront

The one in the bundle had a clear DRM-free icon and those who bought it have it now in their HB digital library.
