Is there away to make Baldur's Gate one continuous game? BTW I using GOG Galaxy, will that make any difference if I can do what I want to do?

I'll refer you to this awesome guide: http://www.gog.com/forum/baldurs_gate_series/baldurs_gate_2_essential_mods/page1

While trentonlf provided the correct link above, my question is; are you talking about the original Baldur's Gate games or the Enhanced Editions, because the mods are only for the original editions (I'm not even sure if there is such a mod for the Enhanced Editions). It is also advisable to not run the game using GOG Galaxy, otherwise it will interfere with the mod's files.

That's kind of what I thought that GOG Galaxy would do. Oh, well I hope I can still transfer my character to BG2 after I finish BG1.

You will be able to. The sequel allows you to import your character from the first game, with or without mods.
Why would Galaxy do that?
I can't even...
Trilogy mod!
Don't remember how to do it but I'm sure that when I get to the end of BG 1 someone will help me out.

Auto updates and consistency checks don't work well with the user changing files on their own without notifying the central server.
Thanks! Bookmarked it!

One more thing. Are there any games similar to BG 1&2 that GOG has? What about the Witcher games?

Witcher is real time and does not have a dice and ruleset system, like tabletop RPGs. Witcher is real time, action-RPG. A GREAT game though. The only connection it has with BG is its engine, which was borrowed from Neverwinter Nights (i think?), another game from the same setting (?) and company as those behind the BGs.

Also, witcher is one man army, no party members and stuff (but some certain NPCs during questline might offer to aid and escort you, actively helping in battle, too).

Icewind dale looks very similar, but it's much more of a dungeon crawler and is quite lacking in comparison on the story department. You could try things like Pillars of Eternity or Serpent on the staglands, they look close but I haven't tried them. Planescape torment is awesome, but it's quite lacking on the combat area (not a problem for me, might be for you). Then there's the KOTOR games, it's in the Star Wars universe but essentially D&D rules as well.

"similar to BG 1&2" is actually pretty vague, depends on what aspect of BG draws you in.

Sounds cool. I'll have to give it a try. Any other games you can think of that are RPGs and worth playing?

Oh I know that, but why would Galaxy join/merge/splice games together?
