More discounts!

As of today also games from Bethesda Softworks are joining the Winter Sale on GOG.COM. Here are some notable examples:

Doom II + Final Doom (-70%) is a set of two cult first-person shooters that defined the whole genre. Defeat swarms of monsters using an arsenal of weapons and your reflexes.

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Game of the Year Edition Deluxe (-70%) is an epic RPG title that introduced to us a truly vast fantasy world, filled with adventures and possibilities.

Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition (-70%) is yet another RPG, this time set in a post-apocalyptic world where every gamer’s decision can become a matter of life and death.

Discounts on Bethesda titles, as well as the rest of the Winter Sale, will end on 2nd January 2020, at 2 PM UTC.

I'm going to get morrowind so i no longer have to use the disc \o/
I expect this has been discussed to death in the past, but it's super weird that the DOS games are listed as Windows only, when these are typically cross-platform via DOSBox.
No games added to GOG, no money from me. It's that simple Bethesda.

nightcraw1er.488: Must be time for a paradox sale, it’s been over a week now.
Careful what you wish for....o.0

Johnny_GT: Actually disappointed with the discounts

Return to Castle Wolfenstein + Wolfenstein 3D + Spear of Destiny for almost 3 times less on Steam.

Ultimate Doom, Doom 2 and Final Doom combined is more than 3 times cheaper there as well.
avatar
Johnny_GT: Quake 3 + Team Arena is also almost half the price on Steam

And those are not even historical lows
Some people won't touch steam with a ten foot pole, and like supporting gog's business model. ;)

Also c'mon.....the prices are still very good for what one is getting & ESPECIALLY compared to the prices they cost when they first came out. :)

StingingVelvet: You'd think they'd at least put stuff like Dishonored and Evil Within up here by now. Though I'm guessing the vast majority own them on Steam anyway and sales would be limited.
After seeing Grimoire climb the sales charts so quickly I wouldn't be so sure on that. ;)

They only list what they have the installers setup for to run(for most) out of the box....likely for legal reasons....just like they don't list unofficially supported versions of windows that many games still run on.
Ah, still no more Dragon Age games!
Where's Skyrim?

Where's Skyrim?
(Note the above is a south park clip, and is a dig on bethesda and how they likely would handle all the people asking about it here[given their current non response on the matter].

You are not wrong... but the price difference still hurts when you add up - specially with the end of regional prices.

For all of those i mentioned, it's R$ 64,25 here, while it's R$ 25,77 on Steam.

I"ll just wait for a better deal here on future sale.

Agreed...that is why I often buy games over time(more sales will always come later on, after all).

Besides that, I also usually try to save for future sales and advocate others do the same(and also if/in case a game gets de-listed, which happens rarely here) if they want to build their collections and save the most money.

(Also by reading the spreadsheets posted by user rwarehall in sales threads one can figure out if a sale is a good deal or not)

I was about to have a heart attack(figuratively) when I saw those prices, as I almost thought they were in US dollars.

I am guessing that is a lot of money where you are from or incomes are lower on average(I ask as over here one can make enough to buy all those games in around 2 hours(or less) of work at minimum wage)? If so then I feel for ya.

As for future sales...those(sadly) might be the best prices one can get for some games here(usually holiday sales are around the lowest for many games, but sometimes a game will get a lower price later on...though that is more rare).

These guys are such a fail...

Whats the difference with everything else though? Before I got FO3 here I already had the regular physical release and the physical GOTY release. Others would probably also have had it on steam too.

New Vegas being the big exception, they completely shy away from the current (PC) steam exclusives and I guess these would sell best because of it.

I'm not saying it's different, maybe the sales of FO3 are why stuff like Dishonored isn't here. It's hard to say really. I know many here on the forum have re-bought games they owned elsewhere, but forums aren't an accurate barometer of the overall public. It would be very interesting to find out how these games sell, but I doubt GOG will say.
Betashed, you're so lazy you can't even bring Skyrim here. Either sac up or piss off.

Tauto: Where's Skyrim?
Actually no game added since the last Bethsoft sale.
How about offering Skyrim, Fallout 4 and Prey?

Is the conventional sale still making more money than if these would be sold here?
Maybe many won't follow suit but I'd actually buy each for 40 € here on GOG...

They would probably offer Oldrim in 2025.
