You can add me to the DOW 1: Dark Crusade fan club as well for being my favorite, although I really did enjoy playing all the DOW 1 games a lot. I'm one of those ppl that also enjoyed Space Marine quite a bit as well.

bigblueogre: I've had my eyes on Battlefleet Gothic Armada for some time now. Looks like it does a good job at capturing 40K...If only It was on GOG :o
I have too, but as I don't Steam, will be hoping that it comes here some day as well...won't be holding my breath though...

The trailers are some of the best 40K game trailers I've ever seen. If your going to do a 40K trailer, you do it by making every second of it epic :D
Chaos Gate and Shadow of the Horned Rat still have compatibility issues, just FYI.
Dark Crusade - so good I bought it in full price. I rarely bought original games* back then, even less for full price (can count them on one hand) AND DarkCrusade is the only "noRPG/FPS" game and RTS on top of that (which was not my favorite genre back then), bought for full price!
It was THAT good.
Would go with DoW1 because it was my very late introduction to RTS genre but it's too primitive and would not go back to it.

*before making account here in 2008 and on Steam somewhere in 2010-2011?
To clarify - my main source of full games back then were gaming magazines. There were like ~6 back then, now only one barely on the surface thanks to the Steam/GoG and internet....

Now I try my best with Chaos Gate (thanks for GoG for working copy) and I feel it's gonna be good (really love tactical games).

Yeah, they are really cool :-D. I've seen numerous youtubes showing gameplay as well, which makes me want to give it a go all the more. Someday maybe ;-)
Gonna add a vote for Dark Crusade. Very cool RTS all around. Although I did like the Sisters in Soulstorm, like others have mentioned the campaign was weaker and the addition of flying units was a poor choice.

I just picked up all of the classic Warhammer games available on GOG though, maybe once I get around to playing them one will usurp DC as my favorite.
Dawn of war 1 and 2 were nice in their own respective ways. I think I prefer dark crusade, which is pretty fun and has a bunch of nice quality mods for more codex units. Soulstorm was fun too however.

edit: I'm too young to have seen the heydays of the older warhammer games we now have on GOG, unfortunately.

I'd love to see a necromunda tactical shooter however :)

Dawn of War : Dark Crusade, and if you can find it the unofficial 2d game Space Hulk now renamed Alien Assault.
I would have to say - Warhammer 40k Rites of War. My fav. game of them, never could get into real time strategy of it, but this, turn based, is flippin awesome. Also making a let's play on youtube, search curly pauly, or see my link in profile:)

Dawn of War 2. I had a mouse finger click injury. Nice voice acting, looting and customization of your sergeants.
Another vote for Dawn of War - Dark Crusade
As much as I liked the campaign in DoW 2 I think best is still Dark Crusade because SP as MP is there awesome.
