davidmichaels: Well there are number of VPNs that are claiming to be the best these days. Its up to you which VPN you want to use, i mean FREE VPN or PAID VPN.

Free VPNs are easy to use yet not secure. Recently their have been many claims that Free VPNs are keeping their user's log and selling their data to 3rd parties, also they keep on leaking dns. Following are the names of free vpns that are famous these days:

1) HotSpot Shield
2) Proton VPN
3) Windscribe VPN
4) Tunnel Bear
5) SurfEasy VPN

On the other hand Paid VPNs are really secure and they provide maximum security to their users, their data is secure with paid VPNs as they don't leak DNS and do not sell their user's data to anyone neither they kee their logs. Worried about the prices I think this is the best time to buy a well known paid vpn as almost every vpn is offering black friday vpn deals. Following is the list of Paid VPNs that i would recommend:

1) Express VPN
2) SurfShark VPN
3) Nord VPN
4) Pure VPN
5) Ivacy VPN

teressapeter: Yeah finally, someone mentioned the VPN I purchased on black friday. It was Ivacy VPN, so far so good. The price was lowest and the service is better than many other VPN providers which cost you a lot more money for nothing. I would vote here for Ivacy VPN, truly a secure VPN and yes they won fastest VPN award this year as well.
You can find good deals all year around actually. Yesterday I found this deal for Surfshark on slickdeals: you get 2 year sub + 1 month free for $47.76, coupon provided is 'shark1mo' in case you don't want to click on the link (I know I don't like clicking on random links). My point is and I agree with you on this one - just look around the net and you'll find plenty of good deals for premium VPNs, don't go for the free ones.

Hi, There is a lot of VPN providers and like any product you get what you pay for. So I believe there are many factors should be taken into consideration before buying a VPN, such as security:
1- Privacy
2- Payment Methods
3- Security
4- Subscription
5- Advertisements

tunnel bear is my favorite :) very cheap and tweeting gets u a free 500GB per month and there privacy is great and they keep no logs ofc if your looking to do illegal crap with a VPN all vpn companys have to hand over logs if law is involved otherwise they get introuble
Can a blue please lock this thread, it's just a mess of spam about VPNs. I'm pretty sure richiemunro's question was answered half a decade back in 2015.
Opera that I use now has built-in shitty VPN that is sufficient to open blocked sites etc.

If I'd want more anonymity, Tor browser is free, after all.

Don't fall for the cheapest vpn, they are expensive for a reason. As a gamer, my team and I were facing the following issues:
- Our ISP was throttling our bandwidth. Most of the ISPs do not upgrade their infrastructure they usually throttle the user's bandwidth and blocked the ports which the games are using as they consume a high amount of bandwidth (So we needed PORT FORWARDING)
- We need to access the new releases which were not released in our region that were only possible with the VPN.
- As gamers, we travel a lot and ave to use public wifi. Public Wifi are commonly known as the breeding ground of cybercriminals. In some regions, their governments have banned certain sites and services. So access our favorite content abroad we needed VPN (So we needed WiFi VPN)
- Almost every gamer has to experience DDoS, in competitive environments, there is a high risk of getting ddosed. So, we needed a solution that can prevent us from DDoS. (Add on which can prevent us from DDoS)
- Lag and speed is the dilemma which gamers face from time to time. (So we needed a Gaming VPN)
- To secure our Bitcoin, Gaming accounts, data, communication which we used to do for planning stuff we needed secure encrypted communication. So that. even if a hacker get hands-on our communication it would be all rubbish for him/her.
- We needed VPN who does not keep a log and sell it to the third parties, so we were looking for No LOG VPN.

After trying many solutions we came across a VPN which we have been using for years and its working like a charm since now. As a solution we found PureVPN. If you are facing any of the above stated issues then its worth checking out. Hope this helps!!

A VPN is known as a service that you sign up for online for a lesser monthly charge. The time you have an account, your VPN service should be "on" when you're online. A VPN takes your Internet connection and makes it safer, aids you remain unknown anonymous and supports you get around blocks and gain access to censored sites. It lends you to a provisional IP address and fleeces your true IP address from every webpage or email you link with. Learn much more about IP by following https://whatismyip.network/ . It's Virtual because it's as in case you have a secluded connection directly to any webpage or another PC you connect to. It's Private because all your webpages visits and online activity is between you and the webpages you visit. It's a Network because you're utilizing a certain network of VPN servers that deals the whole world.
That brief moment where you feel like you're inside some sort of simulation. That's what the above response reminds me of. https://www.gog.com/forum/pillars_of_eternity_series/runtime_errors/post3

Props to it though - it managed to secure 5 rep which is more than most of the sleeper accounts manage.

Makes me really wish GOG's forum displayed the number of hits to specific threads. The title alone on this one has to have driven massive traffic to it, bot or otherwise.

Personally I like NordVPN. It is a paid service but well worth the money. They have a lot of servers around the world, support streaming, have an awesome and responsive ServiceDesk and best of all, a no-log policy. That last part is something that is being overlooked to often and basically means that your VPN isn’t private at all since the logs will tell exactly what, where and how long you did something.

They also have several other benefits like NordVPN offer optimized servers for torrenting, Onion routing (join the Onion network without installing additional software) en secure browsing features.

Highly recommended!

You are right they may be not. I have experienced it and i know may other VPN services create connectivity issues but with the case of Nord and speed is also good while connecting it.
