I was mainly just curious, I don't think I'll switch over from Backloggery (too lazy), but it is good to know that there is at least a way to add my odder "gems", in case I ever decide that I want to switch (I do for an example have a game about public transportation in Stockholm, that was handed out for free to schools, but got a very limited release outside of that, called SL the game).

I'd say Resonance/Darklands/Thief1+2/QfG1-5 on GOG and maybe ArkhamCity on Steam.

How do I know if a game is good if I haven't played it? If a tree falls down in the forest and nobody hears it, did it really fell? AM I ALIVE?

(I disregarded the "most highly regarded" part of this post as I had the joke in mind from the thread title alone ;-P)

Planescape: Torment
I would actually like to play this very much, but from what I've read about it, it's a game best played in long uninterrupted sittings. As a family man, this is something I can very rarely do, so I haven't gotten around to trying it yet.

Arcanum
I used to own the retail version of this, but on the machine I had at the time, it crashed to desktop right after the character creation screen. I then lent it to a mate of mine, who subsequently moved to the US without returning it (he also has my retail copy of Sacrifice). I'm sure I will get around to playing this someday.

The Witcher 2
I bought this along with the first one when it was released. I've since tried to get into the first one, but I don't really like it, so I doubt I'll ever drum up the necessary motivation to try the second one.

Icewind Dale 2 springs to mind. I'm not into RPGs for combat really, and IWD was pretty boring on the story, exploration and questing fronts. Never got around to 2, though I own it here.

Never really played Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and don't even own Revelations but I plan to skip straight to AC3 when I get home. I just don't love the series enough to play monotonous expansion packs and am eager for a new style.

A whole bucketload of point and click games because I buy them out of nostalgia more than actual desire.

On the shooter front, not many, I tend to burn through shooters and finish them all without much trouble. Maybe some older ones, I don't think I ever really played Rise of the Triad.
Completely different games. TW2 is more like a medieval Mass Effect.

I mean, I have played TW1, just not very much. I didn't even manage to get into the city. I got to a point where a priest (I think) gave me some sort of badge, and told me that if I showed it to the merchant on the outskirts of town, he'd tell me how to proceed. So I went to the merchant and talked to him. When I showed him the badge, he clammed up and refused to talk to me anymore. So I went back to the priest, expecting new conversation options, but there weren't any. He just said the same thing, "go to the merchant, show him the badge, he'll tell you what to do", but the merchant still wouldn't talk to me.

I stopped playing at that point, figuring that either I had come across a game-breaking bug, or the "puzzle design" was just too obscure for my taste. Either way, I saw no reason to keep playing.

Indeed. I also found the combat system annoying. Is that better in the sequel?

Oh yeah, nothing alike. It's 100% action combat, dodge and roll and swing like a real action game. It's pretty awesome. The only thing TW2 kept from TW1 is the world and characters and awesome moral relativism. Everything gameplay related is different.

Fallout i guess.

It gets often mentioned and praised in discussions about rpgs. Well, i know what kind of game i like and i have a good idea what the fans of Fallout or TES like them for which makes me think i won't enjouy it very much.
Besides there is one special troll berating about everything in one of my favorite games in a forum dedicated to it. How it is nothing special how it has often been done better and so on. "Go play your fucking game than and stop trying to evangelize me!"
He constantly mentions Fallout so everytime i think about Fallout i remember that guy, get pissed and do something else. ;)
