Round 6: The aliens were shot down in their prime!.
In the sixth round of the Battle Of The Games, fans of UFO series were outnumbered by heavily-armed mercenaries, cornered, and finally forced to retreat with a 40% discount. Those who voted for Jagged Alliance 2 can be proud--the game is now only $3.99--while UFO: Afterlight can be purchased for $5.99 for the next 24 hours.

Round 7: Sacred: Gold vs Divine Divinity
Nothing less than two outstanding action RPGs enter the ring today, prepared to hack and slash each other to pieces. There’s really no way to decide which of these 3rd person RPGs is better other than voting.
If you don't know which game to vote for--check the video from Larian Studios, creators of Divine Divinity
So far they've sold me 4 games during this "Battle. of the Games" extravaganza. If GOG keeps this up I'll have to mortgage my house and sell my pants.
Hm XD I think the timer broke on the main voting page. Its shot up to 11 hours when I go look at the page :)
I'll highly recommend Divine Divinity to anyone that hasn't played it yet. While its a fantastic "diablo clone"... in many ways I prefer it and it does quite a few things that its clonee did not. Sacred was also good, but if you have to pick one... I'd recommend DD.

Licurg: In all honesty, i just like it because it reminds me more of Diablo 2 :P
That's my favourite reason for disliking a game. A Diablo clone can only be worse than Diablo so there's no reason to play it instead of Diablo. Not to mention that I'm not a big Diablo fan in the first place. :P

I'd caution that you should level set on the term "diablo clone" before making a decision. At this point anything set in a dungeon is a "diablo clone". Quite honestly, and this is all highly subjective as all personal preferences are... Divine Divinity is by far the better game.

I also like Darkstone better than Diablo. So I disagree that a clone can't surpass the original ;) (again, unless you want to set on a specific definition of "clone"... most people tend to consider all dungeon crawlers Diablo clones... some are better than others ;) ).

Well, I was talking about Sacred which really is just the result of some people saying "hey, let's make a game like Diablo!". I won't doubt for a minute that Divinity is more than that.
A disappointing outcome, but just as well, as it means I'm going to save the money I'd have spend on Sacred, if it had gotten a significant discount. Seven rounds without feeling the need to buy anything, my purse is cheering! ;)

I actually think Sacred is the better game of the two, so it is quite a disappointing outcome. On the other hand, I don't have DD in English (only in German), so I've taken the opportunity to get the game for two euros :)

I didn't use it but thank you! :)
Anyone willing to trade me a copy of Sacred for King's Bounty: The Legend, King's Bounty: Armored Princess and King Arthur: The Roleplaying Wargame?

If Sacred is the better game then $5.99 should be an acceptable price for it, but personally I'm not convinced. In my book the outcome is disappointing precisely because I think DD is both the better game and cheap enough already. $4 would have been an incentive to try Sacred despite all, while I think $2.39 is an insult to DD. ;)
but, Sacred come with its expansions, no?
maybe this could justify...

Well, I'm not saying $6 is too much for Sacred - I couldn't judge that -, I'm just saying it's too much for me to buy it on impulse. ;)

I have tons of other, presumably better games to play, and I expect that sooner or later Sacred will be on sale again for at least 50% off. Besides, if a game turns out to be boring, it's not necessarily a good thing that its gamelength is prolonged by expansions one will probably never play. ;)
