Cloud Saving, Achievements, and quite a few fixes.

The epic turn-based strategy/RPG series with the striking artstyle and absorbing world just got updated with various changes and improvements. Perhaps even more importantly, it's now made to feel extra cozy here on GOG Galaxy!

Both games now have GOG Galaxy support for Cloud Saving, Achievements, Stats and Leaderboards. Moreover, this update brings general fixes and improvements to both games.

Thinking of launching your own saga? Banner Saga is 75% off and Banner Saga 2 is 60% off for the duration of our Winter Sale.
Wahoo
This game's gonna rip my guts out, isn't it?
Whats Happening, sometimes it shows some Games for Free who arent actually Free on the Website ?
Ok, I really don't understand the pricing here... Buy series is 12.98, Deluxe is 9.99, normal is also 9.99.
Oh well, I don't have time anyway.

Banner Saga 2 is only 50% off now.
How is this deserving of a blue news post, or will all galaxy updates get this?

Think it's a bit of everything for these titles... they got updates themselves, but also new Galaxy features... these are fresh updates, too... as the Steam versions were updated yesterday as well.
Still no Linux version for 1?

It runs on Adobe AIR hence the reason it's not here, otherwise we would've already had it :)

Could you explain why exactly it cannot be here? I'm also not happy with Air in this case, but, well, we should not expect anything else in the case and giving such option would be better than nothing. The game is available for Linux You-Know-Where...

Isn't Machinarium the same case - and for some reason it finally has Linux version here?
Machinarium has a custom engine now :)
Finally, I remember somebody has created a group for games, which haven´t been updated for quite some time, stating that developer prefers you-know-which-digital-distribution.
Now they can be taken off the list :)

Not only this update was needed, for both games, it actually integrates them with Galaxy.
Good move, GOG, looking forward to Banner Saga 3 :)

Hello ciemnogrodzianin!

In this case, the choice of tech used by the first Banner Saga wasn't the reason of the absence of Linux version on GOG. I'm sorry but I cannot disclose any details regarding this specific title.

However this is true: games that require installation of Adobe AIR on Linux are usually rejected by us (games that ship the runtime along with game assets are OK). Here's the rationale behind this decision:

- Adobe AIR is unsupported on Linux since 2011
- the current installation process of the AIR runtime is overly complicated for the end user
- the runtime is available only in 32 bit version, which complicates the installation process even further
- any third-party solutions that make the installation easier, are unofficial and not reliable enough
- even if you manage to install the runtime, you are likely to encounter other problems (e.g. performance or input related) due to poor support of Adobe Flash Player on the Linux platform

Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions about our Linux support!
Thank you! Always nice to have more optional feature parity with Steam. ^_^
