A bit over 10 days left
I think it's about Adventure Y, the new Beamdog game, which will cover the events between Baldur's Gate 1 and 2.

Hmm, I really should start playing those games already.
This is what RPS have to say. In short: It's supposed to be a new Baldur's Gate installment, set between BG1 and 2, by devs of the enhanced edition of both of those games. Given the poor quality of added content, I'm not really excited, especially after playing excellent Pillars of Eternity by Obsidian who they would be in direct competition with now.
an interquel in other words
I do not wish to sound dismissive but it looks like a another attempt to exploit Baldurs Gate franchise. The story of Bhaal spawn seems to be complete. I wish to be wrong, but do not have high hopes for this title.

Wasn't the interlude between the two games basically "High level mage Jon Irenicus caught you with your pants down and locked you up"?
While Beamdog was formed by former Bioware members, a new Baldur's Gate game means they will truly have to prove themselves if they're to pull this one right. The big Trio of games (this is what I call them): Divinity Original Sin, Pillars of Eternity and Wasteland 2 all have mostly succeeded in capturing the look and feel of their elder counterparts and more importantly the devs have been very open regarding their development.

Can't judge until there's a starter dish on the table but I hope they will give it the love a game deserves instead of being just another product / series exploitation.

Yeah, very little time passed between BG1 and BG2, going by the game lore.

Perhaps it's a thrilling game in the vein of Orgeon Trail. You get all caravanned up, begin your long trip southward, and no matter what you do, your fate is sealed. Maybe, to avoid tangling with the plot of BG2, they'll even have you play the caravan helpers!

You have died of disintegration.

I'm a huge fun of the Baldur's Gate games so they better not fuck it up like George Lucas fucked up Star Wars and like J.J. Abrams fucked up Star Trek. Like George Miller fucked up Mad Max. Like Bioware fucked up Dragon Age 2. Like Disney is going to fuck up Star Wars some more. Like Marvel fucked up Thor.

Yep so unless the new game is about Irenicus's life before he became the Irenicus in BG2 they are probably going to fuck it all up.

It is always nice to hear about a new traditional RPG in development but the whole Baldur's Gate saga is complete. I probably would have preferred a completely new game with complete different settigns and characters.

Even Shadows of Amn barely had any connection to the original game. So it is hard to imagine the need for yet another sequel.

I remember seeing the ads and articles for the original Baldur's Gate in PC Gamer back in the day and I was very excited about the game, I bought it as soon as it came out. A game doesn't have to be a sequel to really interest people.
a new game for GOG
I saw a leaked document that showed the story will focus on the epic party at the tavern after the party defeats Sarevok.
I hope they are making the third installment so I can finally play it. C'mon guys, make the third one already.
