President, Beamdog & Overhaul Games

Just got the above in my email so thought I'd share it with you guys.

Oh, and please let's not get into the whole discussion of whether the game is worthy or not, etc. That's all be done plenty already. This is just to let those interested in it know it is available again and those who own it know the patch that was held up in legal limbo will be coming soon now. That is all. Thanks.

I am thinking of starting over at Baldur's Gate 1, I really need to get a more better party than what I used the most:

My Character Argronok is a fighter

A Paladin

A Priest

Another Fighter

Fighter/Druid

Thief

I have no attacking mage, anyway I already set my fighter character with Strength at 18/00 and after that first playthrough I think the second time will be easier and faster.
I'd actually love to see these come to GOG, if for no other reason than because of the enormous amount of wishlist votes: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games#search=baldur&order=votes_total (But I'm assuming Beamdog & Overhaul Games are afraid of DRM-free.)

8000+ for BG:EE
5500+ for BG2:EE
This is good news. Even if you don't support the remakes, it's still really sad to see a company trying to do something like this and then have legal issues shut them down.

A tip: Google for guides and read specific sub-forums for the game in question. I would take a dive at GameBanshee and Spellhold Studious as well as the BG sub-forum here.

As for the game, that's great news! I especially like the part that they plan to release information about upcoming BG2EE. I can't wait to play a marathon once BG2EE is released and bug free.

I don't know how I missed that site but something like that is an excellent start. As for the nameI think it's good but I would have to say it depends on the class, race and alignment.

All human male warrior and paladin, I'm old fashioned.
Good news. Maybe eventually it will be the best version of the game.

Release it on GOG and it will be the best version.

Release it on GOG, fix the bugs and improve the graphics in the newly added areas and then BOOM there ya go.
Great news! I was running into a bug just in the tutorial!

And make the UI less tablet oriented and more mouse and keyboard on the PC version.

(Thats what I heard from Crosmando)

The problem with the UI is just that it's low-res and really ugly, so it probably looks OK on a tablet using a 800x600 resolution or whatever they use, but try it on a 1920x1080 PC monitor and it's quite bad. The fact that they didn't make a separate high-res UI for PC version leads me to believe it was just a cash-grab at iTunes audience, and PC was an after-thought.
I'm waiting for the Android version, but the iOS reviews aren't that great (control issues), so I'm adopting a wait and see attitude. I'm more eagerly awaiting Shadowrun Returns.
