I guess Desura is already on thin ice when Linden Labs bought them...only to resold them to Bad Juju a few months later. Oh well, it's time to backup all those keys and installers.. *sigh*
Time to download everything I guess...
Damn, looks like it's indeed time to download all my Desura games. I own 1.100+ games there so i won't be able to download them all.
I knew they'd disappear eventually. Always resisted using them.

Think I've got one thing from there. Time to grab it.
Never bothered with them personally, I never saw the point, if its not on GOG or Steam I probably don't need it, stopped dealing with Gamersgate too for the same reason, My games were being too spread out, so I consolidated what I had to GOG and where it wasn't available there I would use Steam.
Ah, damn it. I'm going to need another external HD.
Sad.

Time to backup last version of zomboid (why isn't it on gog already?). Plus a couple of indieroyale bundles.

I just went through my Desura collection, and there's really only 13 titles I need to backup. I never did use Desura much, and a couple of titles I had on there I now have DRM-free on GOG, so no real loss there.

Still, too bad. It is a nice site for checking out early versions and trying out a dev's first game.
Sad. I hope Abuse is at least gonna get released on GOG once Desura is down. I was super excited when I discovered that game there, and for free at that.
you know what will be super and would put aside all fear of loosing the games that people own on these digital stores when they go down .

Once one of this companies files for bankruptcy. they have to place all the licenses of the games in GOG or STEAM or any digital store.

Maybe the different stores can do bittings on the licenses and by doing so the dying store can make a little money on the way out

c´mon lawyers and politics make it happen

Well shit! I was worried by this delayed payments thing so it's not like I didn't see this coming. But Bad Juju pretended everything was fine...
What do you need to do to back up games on Desura? Is it just a case of saving the relevant game folder, or are there registry entries or files located elsewhere?

Everything disappears eventually though...

Most of them (as far as I know) have proper installers you can download off the site.

Also, whelp, time to download the couple dozen games I have there... hope I have space somewhere, most of my drives are quite full.
