I'm doing fresh OS installation and would like to install Avast AV.

Unfortunately, the latest version of Avast AV 17.9.2322 causes some problems for many users.
https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=212045.0

Fortunately, I do not need new changes and fixes from the latest version. I do not know when the problems will be fixed so I would like to install previous version for now, 17.8.2318.

The question is: is there some official place where I can find Avast AV downloads archive for offline installation?

Official download link always starts dowload of the latest version:
http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup_offline.exe

Also, where I can check checksums (MD5 / SHA1 / SHA256) of Avast AV offline installers?
Can anyone share with me checksum of previous (17.8.2318) offline version?

EDIT: Good news, I've found it. :)

If anyone has problems with latest version of Avast (17.9.2322) here is the link where you can find official offline downloads of previous one (17.8.2318):

Normally this is where I would recommend one of the old software sites but the ones I use don't have anything newer than 3 years ago.

Filehippo is supposed to also have older versions but i can;t see it from here and I:m in the middle of server updating so I can;t fire up the proxy right this minute. May want to check there or maybe someone else can take a look see:

https://filehippo.com/download_avast_antivirus/11727/

I am showing 4 active torrents although none of them are from what I would consider a trusted source. (Yup, my library blocks filehippo, ZIts and Beetle Bailey but Pirate Bay is wide open. Go figure.)
You know, if you are having to go several versions back to fix an issue or there's been a change in the software, maybe you should seek a new solution.

Might I suggest something like ClamAV?

Filehippo is one of the places I've already been. The problem is: they are offering only online version to download (~6MB) and I need offline one (~200MB)... :/

It's not "several versions back" - it's just previous one. :)

I think current version was released "in a small hurry" (just before Christmas, December 21st) and included some "big" changes which are not really important to me (like UI redesign) but which caused some other problems.

As I'm going to do fresh OS install I'd like to start with AV version which does not cause such problems. :)

Sorry about that. Again I couldn't load it from the library but didn;t want to ignore it as an option just in case they did have it.

Glad you found a copy of it.

Yes, I'm very happy. And (I think) other Avast users could be happy too as latest version is buggy.
