Fictionvision: Hey GOG, lets have an Atari sale this upcoming weekend! You can do it to try and save the company like all the THQ sales!

Granted it won't make a difference, but it will allow people to get a bunch of games before a chance of something happening to them.
It could potentially work, like the way the interplay bundle was done.
Actually, now that I think of it they might get bought by Warner Bros. Atari used to be owned by them after Bushnell got thrown out.
Welp, I guess it's time to buy Silver and Riddick.
Is Darklands worth getting?
It looks a little iffy to me.

BoxOfSnoo: Don't just consider Total Annihilation, grab it with both hands!

If anyone is still on the fence about TA, maybe this is the push you need. You will NOT be disappointed.

dirtyharry50: I thought I read somewhere but maybe I am wrong, that TA is kind of overwhelming for an RTS newbie. On that basis I've thought about picking it up for "someday" a number of times but I keep thinking with so many other games to play that maybe someday would never really come to pass anyway. The fact that it is regarded so highly as a classic does nag at me though.
It was my first RTS, so I don't find it that bad. There are only two resource units, so that is simplified a lot, but you need to manage that economy. Play a few skirmishes on easy and get the feel of it.

The one thing that you have to get used to that is different from other RTSes (and what some people may find overwhelming) is that you have to keep building, a lot more than before. In other games, you make say, one barracks, one land unit building (etc) or maybe two of each, in TA it's not unheard of to build six of each. You can easily have 10 construction units assisting each construction building, to increase the production rate.

Keep your economy balanced and keep cranking out the units.
I have these games on my wishllist .

Desperados 2: Cooper's Revenge
Krush Kill 'N Destroy Xtreme
Master of Orion 3
Pirates! Gold Plus
Rollercoaster Tycoon 3: Platinum!
Total Annihilation: Kingdoms + Expansion

Thanks for that info. I feel like I should pick up some of these games now while the getting is good but the timing isn't that great. I'm going to hang in a bit and see if some sale isn't run soon. I hope so! That would be awesome.

how likely is it their games will stop being sold now or something? Anybody been here for other similar situations? Is there some filter to let me search atari stuff?

edit- nevermind. I found the option to search by developer. and I'll look for that "what was removed" thread that i also just remembered was a thing.

so new question that I know was already asked think there'll be a sale for the panic buyers like me? lol

Commander Pack. Never played Kingdoms, but I heard it was disappointing when compared to TA, and more of an unrelated way to capitalize on the name of a successful game.
I wonder who will buy these IPs : Pong, Asteroids, and Centipede

- You got Asteroids?

- No, but my dad does. Can't sit on the toilet some days.
Hardly surprising. What has Atari even released in the past half decade?
Hope GOG can keep their games here somehow, lots of classics right there.
Atari in the US is about to die a second time? Huh.
So far for me it looks like I better think seriously about getting these soon:

Master of Orion 1 + 2
Master of Magic
Total Annihilation: Commander Pack
Pirates! Gold Plus
Darklands
Silver

I probably need to grab Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 on Steam also since it is Steamplay and I prefer Mac native when possible.

Yikes! So I need a GOG Atari sale and a Steam Daily on RCT3. Right.

Maybe I will just get Master of Orion, Master of Magic and Pirates! and give up on the rest and maybe luck will prevail and they'll continue to be around later.
