Arkadian Warriors isn't exactly the most celebrated hack and slash, action RPG. In fact it's really as generic as the reviews make it out to be, albeit with a Greek theme.

However, since they have it on sale on Live this week for 400 points I picked up a copy for me and one for my daughter. The co-op experience is pretty good. We played via Live, but I suspect couch co-op works identically, since we couldn't wander off from each other despite having two screens.

Sometimes when you get a couch co-op game, it is uncomfortable and clunky, this one is actually pretty smooth, the interface for co-op is well thought out and does what you would want it too, right down to you being able to both by and sell at the store at the same time. Yeah, you have to play follow the leader over to the fountains in town between quests, but you that's about the extent of the annoyance, run in and kill stuff, loot, equipping your new gear takes mere seconds since the stats practically scream, "I'm better than that trash you're using!" Death in co-op literally lasts a couple of seconds with no real penalty I could see, perhaps if both players kick it at the same time something bad happens...

At any rate, it's not outstanding, but we've had several threads about good action RPGs and games with co-op lately. I can't recommend this anywhere near some of the best co-op titles, but for some mindless, easy co-op fun, it's pretty cheap and easy to pick up and put down.
I played Arcadian Warriors with my gf when it was a new game. It was pretty fun experience. Little short though.

Yeah, I eeked maybe 7-8 hours out of it doing all achievements and playing co-op with my daughter. I only paid 5 bucks for it so I felt it was worth it. She was really waiting to be allowed out of town which never happened. This annoyed her greatly.
