Honestly never liked the format of those games - give me an X-Com or other kind of TBS (including 4X and grand strategies) and I'm happy. One of my more recent favourites was Marauder (aka Man of Prey) aside from the dystopic setting and the fact it was a double-hard-bastard to finish, it wasnt 100% turn-based (and involved some RPG elements to boot) - instead it involved a "dynamic pause" system - so a mix of RTS and TBS as you constantly had to pause to figure out many aspects of your strategy.

[EDIT] - forgot to mention it has more in common with the likes of Jagged Alliance and SS2 than the titles mentioned in the OP.

Currently very cheap on steam for those that use it or just want to look: http://store.steampowered.com/app/289600

Not in, but thanks.

I'm NOT in, but anyone who likes the genre and doesn't already have Disciples 2 should enter.

I would go with Heroes of Might & Magic 2 & 3 as my overall favorites. This isn't because they are better from a game mechanics point of view, but because of the overall package. Great music & graphics combined with fun story based campagns entice me to play on despite poor skills. Those who require complexity & advanced AI need not apply.
Not in - I gave this game away myself already - but +1!

One of my favorite classic games on GOG. If you don't own this, you really really should give it a try!
Not in. Although I love the genre, I've already won a few games recently, and I just gotten my backlog back to a manageable size so I don't want it to grow again.

My favourites would be HoMM3 (and 2), Imperialism, Jagged Alliance, Alpha Centauri, Warlords 2, Lords of the Realm 2 (recently finished LotR1; that was nice too and aged well). Can't think of any more off the top of my head.

What I don't like about these games though, is that quite often for large maps, it becomes tedious to manage all your well established cities/countries/bases... etc towards the end. I know some games like Alpha Centauri offer the possibility to turn automation on, but that is usually far from optimal.

You can't make a giveaway like this and not to mention Civilization series. They are my favorite, although I like almost all you say (I don't try Eador, it is in my backlog).
More like this I like: Fallen Enchantress, King's Bounty, Warlock and Warlords.
Not in cause i don't have the rep for it

But i would like to say that Colonization is one of the best turn-based strategy game out there .... yes it is old, but still is a lot of fun. I played the new one a while back, and its also good, if you can't deal with the old graphics try the new version, i think its called Civilization IV: Colonization

tho im not in, thanks for the giveaway +1

Anytime you mention a game, it goes to my wishlist (you do it with NEO Scavenger too). Please, don't do it again...

I tried it and it is not the same. I love Colonization too.

(another russian-made gem - though the dub is awful)

One for the fallout 1&2 fans actually... so kinda TBS-ish

innerring did state that exceptions could be made if your rep was below 50. If you don't have Disciples 2 and want it, then boldly edit your original post and declare, "I'm in!". Disciples 2 is the apogee of the series due to atmospheric art and decent music.
And both of them are in sale...
You are killing me...

Not in for the giveaway but I have always loved the Civ games as far as turn based gaming is concerned. You get to explore, research, and build your way. I usually win on points instead of conquests. I love builder/construction games.

7,62 High Calibre added. Brigade E5 is not so clear.

It is early for dinner, but I think I'll go now anyway, before you attack again. I do not want to reach 100 games in my wishlist...
