I don't see this unqualified whiny statement changing any minds. People here have already posted specifics as to what's wrong with Origin. If you disagree enough to post this here, perhaps you would care to qualify your statement with the slightest semblance of fact?
I don't care about it on GOG because I can download the games and play them without a client. EULAs are not legally binding and have often been found to be unenforceable. And really, from a practical perspective, there's simply no way that EA can stop you from playing your GOG game once it's downloaded on your computer.

I don't care whether Origin scans my drive or not, Steam does the same thing (albeit they let you opt out of it). I care that they seem to be very trigger happy when it comes to removing games from your account, whether for cheating, forum bans or lack of use. That's why I won't be buying from them.

Whilst it may be a bit extreme to label Origin as 'Spyware', I don't think you can deny that their EULA and generally buisness practices are pretty dodgy.

At least with steam it's an Opt in Opt out, where as with Origin it's pretty much 'Ok you've installed this, all your personal data are belong to us'.

Also as PenutBrittle has said, the fact that you can post a message on a forum and get all your games removed from your account for doing that (see the dragon age 2 incident) or even by not using them... that's a very bad buisness model.

EA got nothing on Kinect EULA. That one almost bluntly declared you're installing a potential spy camera.

I'd personally say that you shouldn't worry about EA's eula. It's not exactly enforceable on a website such as GOG. They merely put it there as an insurance.

They can write all they want on their closure, but it's not like they can enforce them.

Haven't read the eula, but I'm simply not going to Origin.
Got enough of EA activation single use code #*&%*# stuff with DA and ME.

So no Dragon Age 2 for me, no more Mass Effect or whatever.
A pity but I won't die (of that).

Origin is in a battle with steam over the gamer. It don`t care about the gamer (though it`ll say). All the two of them want is YOU.

I had a look at Origin with BF3- just like Steam, but more aggressive. It so wanted to take my Battlefield 2 bad company as well into Origin. Neither could I stop it starting on Windows start. I must`ve missed something on install, but no matter what I did I could not stop it.

I uninstalled and sent the game back- I just couldn`t play knowing I had this crap on my PC. I don`t need it. All I want is to install my game and PLAY that`s all, i don`t need a 3rd party utility telling me how wonderful it is to be on Steam or Origin. I just want to play offline aggro DRM free.

I never had any problems with Securom thing like some did.

Expect it to get worse. We should say no to Steam and Origin. Totally. Yes, even if we can`t get our fave game on them.
