I play Diablo series by myself solo, I like the storyline and atmosphere and I love just taking my time. Diablo has always allowed this for me they offer single player for us.

But Diablo III, blizzard has come out and said, no you are playing online with everyone else. Internet connection required.

And you know they are basically doing what Ubisoft did and are trying to prevent pirating and cheaters/hackers by requiring everyone to be on Bnet all the time.

But for someone like me that has always only played the single player this is a just swift kick in the nads. Why should I be forced to play online to play by myself?

I'm therefore boycotting Diablo III. I know many or perhaps most people play online so this may not seem like a big deal to many. But I know many here at GOG despise DRM and I'm sure are against Ubisofts online requirement. and EA Origin crap.. what do you say about Diablo III?

I'm boycotting Diablo III because of this and that you can buy items with real money.
I know that it's dead... but poor horse.

Tarm: and that you can buy items with real money.
This is part of the reason I'm seriously thinking of getting it ^^

That and I really want to be part of the diablo craze for a change. I missed out on the last two times :/
I wouldn't call it "boycott", but yes, these features played a role in my decision to ignore Diablo 3.
I do not care about the whole Diablo hype, to be honest. I will do just as I do with Starcraft 2 - I *may* purchase the game after it will be sold with all expansions and for a reasonable price (<30€). Diablo's "online only" policy just makes me want to buy at even lower price. If they will not be purchasable for such price at all, then so be it. I will neither purchase, nor pirate them. Diablo has no meaningful storyline to speak of, so I won't miss much. I have plenty of other games to play and these two will not be missed.

So, could me and my grandchindren join you then?

Sequiro: blizzard
Yea. That is the single reason that I need to not buy it, aside from others.

Well this is going to be worse than having to compete with teenagers who only sleep two hours a night and doesn't have a life except to sleep in school and play games.

I say meh about being a part of a craze. It's usually like sex. You're swept away at the beginning without any control and when you're getting into your stride it's over and you suddenly find yourself alone and playing with yourself.
/care about DRM.

I always liked trading games and auction houses. If there's even a slight chance I can make back some of the money I put into the game, it's a bonus ^^

Well I hope you'll succeed. Myself I wont go near it because I'd be raging about that rich people will even have an advantage in a Diablo game now within half an hour.

Since I could play the game alone all the way up to and including Inferno difficulty (highest) I don't think that will bother me too much :)

That's up to how they'll handle that feature I guess. Only money servers or something. How heavily money will affect gameplay.
I'm very curious about this and the gamers reactions to it.
I am not boycotting Diablo 3... I love the game and I really hope to enjoy it.
I've got enough things to go over for now. Not boycotting it but not buying it either.
