Similar games, or perfect clones and copycats?

Lords of the Fallen would probably qualify.. although it's apparently not as good.
I think some people claim Blade of Darkness is similar.

Which strangely seems to have been taken down from GOG.

Nothing strange about it.

Codemasters contract to distribute it expired.
Aye. Actually, Dark Souls is a clone of Blade of Darkness. An excellent and pioneering game. Too bad it is as of now, taken down from GoG...

Find it in the "BAY", or try to "kickass" and it will magically appear out of nowhere!

Before the Souls games From Software did the King's Field series. It follows some of the same underlying principles, the dark aesthetic, the tough but fair difficulty (actually I hear it's even harder then the Souls games), etc. Biggest difference being King's Field is entirely in first person.

But those games are for the PS1 and PS2, so I don't know if that's a problem for you.
Dark Souls 2?
Wa wa waaa!

Or the 'original' Demon Souls if you have a PS3 kicking about...

Perfect clones? No such thing. At least not that I know of. If you've already finished all 3 Souls games ( preferably multiple times ) then there's Lords of the Fallen, which is supposedly quite decent.

And isn't Bloodbourne(sp?) supposed to be available soon? Aside from those, how about going back to some of the classics which the Souls games took inspiration from? Some old Castlevania games, in example.

I am the lucky few that won the game in a giveaway after the game was pulled out of GOG :)

I heard about it, but it has a lot of negative reviews by Steam users. It looks like it's not as good as DS.

Bloodborne is PS4-exclusive and I'm not interested in this generation of consoles. But I may go for LotF. I read Steam community reviews about it, and those reviews give me negative feeling about LotF. Unlike DS series, it has an average score on Steam.

150 games in my GOG backlog dude (most of which are classic games not indie) plus some unplayed games on Steam and on Consoles :P

Just now I have begun to play Planescape: Torment for the first time.
