I don't know how many anime/manga viewers/readers of you are out here on GOG, but let's talk.

Feel free to post, ask, discuss, share and link whatever you want that's related. Only rule is that if you link to something that's NSFW or spoilery, make sure you state it beforehand. Otherwise, this thread is just a place for us to chill out and idle away. =)

last month I read Ranma ½ for the first time in my life. Really goddang weird! :-D

I don't watch all that much anime, but I really enjoyed the scifi racing film REDLINE.

Any VR-themed anime that are worth it? I could never get into Serial Experiments Lain. (it was too deep, or maybe the subs were just too crappy.)

Yeah, gender-benders. =P

Thanks for mentioning REDLINE, it's one of those I still haven't watched and have totally forgotten about it.

How much VR? Characters totally immersed in it like a VR MMO or something much less? If you want, you can be very specific and list all kinds of genres/type/setting/etc... for what you're looking for. I'm sure somebody, if not me, will recommend something that'll fit your bill. =)

As for SEL, I agree. It can be quite philosophical and hard to get into, definitely not for everybody.
I managed to watch few series last year and here is my lists

Series
1. Erased
2. MOB 100
3. One-Punch Man
4. Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu
5. Mushi-Shi
6. Gintama
7. Berserk

Movies
1. Kimi no Na wa (Your Name)
2. Red Turtle
Konosuba getting a second season is great, i hope rumours turn out true and Overlord gets antoher one too.

VeTrack: Tokyo Anime Award Festival's Top 20 Anime of 2016
1. Yuri on Ice
Yuri on Ice, huh? I can see why that wou- ... wait a second that doesn't look like the Yuri I'm thinking of.

Kind of weird not to see One Punch Man near the top of the list, and especially being ranked so far below mob psycho. Konosuba isn't on the award list either. Damn.

VeTrack: Granblue Fantasy
I actually played this for a short while, it's good if you need a distracting phone game. I wonder if they'll ever make a proper game out of it, the superb artwork is wasted on such a grindfest.
I love romantic comedies, Anything that can resemble real life situations. Clannad, pet girl of sakurasou, Golden Time, Comic party, Plastic memories.

I love how a lot of these stories really make you go holy crap this is something that can happen in real life so I started to love this genre so much.

and for action stuff, mobile suit 08th ms team and FLCL, Redline and Jinroh are some top shit

I am just watching random shit but I am very picky on the new stuff cause of all the fan service and such that is going around with these new series.
Hmm, I haven't yet watched all that many of them yet. Last year, I think I watched:

- Tokyo Ghoul
- One Punch Man
- Noragami
- Fullmetal Alchemist
- Attack on Titan

I've also been reading the Attack on Titan manga.

Since you watched Fullmetal, just watch Brotherhood, too. More faithful to the manga and feels better, in every aspect!

Yeah, I've never read the Manga, but I've been planning on checking both of them out too.

Any thoughts on what you like/dislike on those you've watched/read? It's fine to just post a list, but I was hoping for more interaction and discussion in here. Do talk with each other too, not just me! =)

WBGhiro: Konosuba getting a second season is great, i hope rumours turn out true and Overlord gets antoher one too.
I don't follow Overlord that closely but don't get your hopes up, especially since the compilation films have already been announced. Even if there's going to be any continuation, it might not be a full season.

WBGhiro: Yuri on Ice, huh? I can see why that wou- ... wait a second that doesn't look like the Yuri I'm thinking of.
Same here. I was intrigued when I first saw its English title, then I saw an image of its male leads and I don't pay attention to it anymore... But I have to say, the good things I've been hearing about it is quite overwhelming.

I guess the issue with OPM is that the whole season feels very incomplete. I'm up to date with all the versions and I won't go all out to recommend someone to watch S1 unless S2 is already out. They might as well read the manga first. Even right now, manga is in a long filler arc because they need to expand the content to fill S2 and hopefully to end it with the start/finish of a particular arc.

How's the music? When I first heard Uematsu worked on it, I was wondering how many players will actually listen to the music while playing a mobile game. Btw, there will be an anime for it this year. I think it already has a LN adaptation.

Yeah, realism always make it more appealing even though I don't watch romance that much. Do share some of your picky picks! :)

Btw, I have a couple of questions for those who understand how MAL works since I don't use it at all.
1) What's stopping someone to make multiple accounts to rate multiple times on the same anime?
2) How do they enforce the 20% rule before you can rate an anime?

Thanks for mentioning that. Saw a trailer, looks awesome! I'll find a way to watch it later. :D

I'm baffled this made it to number one yet Haikyuu!! is only 19 on this list. (Under Utawarerumono? Seriously? I can only imagine they're not rating it high because it's a short season 3) I guess I should give it a go since I do like sports anime and it wouldn't be the first one to get me excited about watching an anime about a sport I otherwise don't particularly care for.

Re: Zero Kara Hajimeru Issekai Seikatsu. So fucking worth it. First episode starts off cliche as fuck, then the second episode suddenly goes dark and the series just keeps getting better from there. Loved it.

I was baffled too about Yuri On Ice! until I checked the the rules of the voting..
You basically gave a vote using your twitter-account and you could make 1 vote/day during the voting time, (it was between 21.11-25.12). Here is archived voting site captured at 01.12.2016

I'm baffled how the rules of voting are supposed to explain your bafflement! Care to explain further?

In all seriousness though, take care not to judge something before you even watch it. At the very least, don't do it in here. =P

Go for it and report back your findings. =)

One thing to take note if you haven't already knew: Even though it isn't Yaoi, it's er... close?

Yeah, it's on the Nico's ranking and a few others that I didn't deem necessary to put them up here too.
