tinyE: Am I the only one who has never played Angry Birds? I feel like I was back in gradeschool and everyone gave me shit because I was the only one in the class who hadn't seen "Back to the Future".

kalirion: I played the free version on Chrome for a bit - was not impressed. Maybe touch controls are required for enjoyment?
How about http://apps.microsoft.com/windows/en-US/app/rayman-jungle-run/1949ac00-ec5a-4c2b-b81f-0811076cf6fc

Yeah I know I just don't have a phone right now

McDon: Braid is on sale for €2.50! Why would you get Angry birds when you have that?
avatar
HiPhish: Actually, I would. At least Angry Birds is more mentally challenging than Braid and has none of the pretentiousness. It must be one of the most overrated games ever, but of course I ended up buying it because everyone guilt-tripped me into it. I got it on a Steam sale and I still feel ripped off. Angry Birds is nothing more than a nice distraction on your phone when you are waiting at the doctor's office or waiting for the bus to come and that's fine, at least it does something right. I got it yesterday for free on my iPad and while it's not exactly my cup of tea I can at least see what the appeal is.
Angry Birds is wayyyy more overrated than Braid, ask anyone what Angry birds is and they'll know and then ask the same about Braid...

Um, what now?
I played the demo for the first one on PC a few months ago and didn't see the fuss.

I've only played the free version on chrome for a little bit, it is not my cup of tea but I can see why people play it for a time killer.
nvm

I do understand why Rovio is selling AB on Steam and other places not mobile as I've seen parents buying the physical DVD's to their kids. Not everyone has afford or need to buy their kids an expensive phone, but those birds still are popular, so the next best thing is to sell the game on consoles and PC. And it's not like they're asking premium price of the game.

And I do like to throw those birds myself as well, I'm still in the middle of AB:SW on my tablet.
Personally I prefer Siege Hero... Same principle, but the shift of perspective makes it more cerebral and not so based on luck

No there isn't really anything special about it, it only got popular cause it was a fun time waster for your phone and never really got big on PC mainly just Phones and Tablets but they still made them for PC so they could have them on all platforms. And for ppl complaining about the $5 for it shouldn't really complain cause Angry Birds has been $5 on PC for a very long time it is just now they brought it to Steam.

Yeah true except what some people don't know is that Angry Birds has been on PC for a few years so it is nothing new and same with the $5 price tag, the only thing new now is that it is on Steam which I am happy about cause I like playing AB as a good time waster and it's nice not to have to go to their site to buy it when I can now buy it on the platform I am on the most.
