If you click on the wishlist link above and look to the right, you'll see the "Stats". Notice it says "991,024" votes currently fulfilled. (Now admittedly that isn't just games - and the completion of some upcoming Galaxy features might be what pushes it over the edge - but the vast majority of it is, I believe.)

Not too long ago GOG was merging entries for Bethesda and Ubisoft games on the wishlist like Morrowind, Hexen, and Assassin's Creed III, and now Bethesda is here and Ubisoft is active again. So I guess the wishlist can be more important in helping GOG convince publishers to bring stuff here than many of us realize.

P.S. You can tell them that they could get some more completed just by fully marking recently added games, e.g.:
