We're launching the weekend early this week as good things should last longer. You've been waiting for this promo for a while, and it's finally here!

You knew this day will finally come, and at last you can grab the great Dungeons & Dragons classics, including Baldur's Gate, Planescape: Torment or Neverwinter Nights, for prices so crazy you have to figure that we're Chaotic Neutral. With this deal we're also testing a totally new promo system that gives you a bigger discount the more games you buy in one order. We're starting with a 20% discount if you buy one game from the offer. Every another game from the promo that you add to the order increases your discount with another 5%, so 2 games get you 25% off, 3 games get you 30% off and so on, until you get a 60% discount on your order of the whole D&D collection. Of course if you already own some of the games from the promo they will count towards your final discount!

The promo ends on Monday, September 26 at 11:59 p.m. EDT, so there's no time to lose, and you'll never know when a similar occasion will happen again.

Immoli: I'm tempted to get the two Baldur's Gates, Icewind Dales, Neverwinter Night, and The Temple of Elemental Evil.

They worth getting?
Are there demos for them anywhere?
Yes, they worth this price. Ehh, I'm stupid. They worth 10 times this much!

Ohh, and my D&D collection finally complete!

The first 4 there are all infinity engine and therefore awesome, people say that NWN can be a bit dull but community content is good, not sure about Temple but you should DEFINITELY add Torment to the list, if you don't own it already - if you do BG and ID use the same engine and rules

windwakr: What a terrible deal system. I only want one of these games, and 20% off just doesn't make it worth it.

Pass.
These are some of the best selling games ever, both on this site and in general. They don't necessarily need to do a promo on them at all. They sell really well without discount, so expecting more than this is simply not too realistic.

I would have wagered that there would be a flat 30% promo for them. So if you're interested in more than a couple of them (which I think is true for a lot of people here) this promo is a lot better than what I thought would happen. Sure, it isn't spectacular if you just want one game, but again - be realistic. Why would they discount the top selling games too much?
Argh, hating you GOG...

Instabuy, even though I own 50% of them anyway.

rihkama: And if I just want a single game it's 20% while old system quite often had 50% discounts as well (even for a single game) from what I remember.
The percentages change, I was just using examples. For the admittedly short time I've been here, the larger discounts (around 50%) have been when that is the only game on sale. If it has been multiple games, you were 'penalized' for not buying all of them. I can only remember one multiple game sale where you got the discount amount no matter what.

I think it just depends on how you tend to buy games on GOG and each promo. If you often only bought a single game from a promo, then the old system was usually a better deal. If you like to buy three or four, but maybe not always the whole pack, this is a much, much better system.

Then again, if you just cave and buy the whole pack, it's a wash. :P

I was wondering what a infinity engine game was. >.> Someone else mentioned that too lol.
I already have Torment, that was a good game.
A suggestion to GOG: create a virtual wallet.

I like having some backup funds in my favorite digital distribution services (Steam, PSN, etc...) just in case I'm in a position I am eighter broke or can't use my credits cards for some reason. Which is the case for me now.

Well, that's probably for the best as i have a huge backlog to dig through but I'm still a bit sad I'm missing on games like Torment, Ice Wind Dale and ToEE.
It's a pity Demon Stone and Dragonshard have to be in this pack, because otherwise there would be no reason not to just get everything. I got all the stuff I didn't already have... which included said middling Action and RTS spinoffs. Oh well, they should be good for a laugh if not anything else, right?
Nice I might grab the whole pack.

I'm trying to decide if Demon Stone and Dragonshard are worth an extra 2 each since I'm not as interested in those.

That's fair point, but to many 20% discount doesn't feel big enough especially if potential buyer is busy with other games/work currently. They might just postpone it to later (and probably forget it entirely after some time). I believe I belong to this group. I'd love to buy BG2 but 20% discount doesn't feel big enough to make me buy it right now as I am playing other games. I probably will just forget the game again until some promotion or discussion brings it up.

Allowing buyers to gift part of the pack would probably help to convince people like me who are not entirely sure if they want whole pack or not (obviously you could only gift the game before you download the game or bonus content).

http://www.gog.com/en/promo/digital_game_factory 50% discount
http://www.gog.com/en/promo/ 50% discount
http://www.gog.com/en/promo/1c_collection

And probably many more, I didn't feel like going through my entire e-mail archives. :-) Obviously there are many promotions with 50% for all games and 30% if not buying everything.
Gah, can't decide between getting all 9 games for 35$ or the 4 games I haf wishlisted since forever for 24$. Baldurs Gate 1,2; NN;Planescape Torment;

I'm mostly interested in the storyline of a RPG so are the other 5 games good in that aspect?

Neverwinter Nights 1 has lots of good community made campaigns for both single and multiplayer. Both hack'n'slash and story fans should find more than enough good stuff to play for long time.
This is a nifty new promo system and an excellent choice of games to debut it.

I own all the Infinity games, but I'll probably pick up Demon Stone for $5. For a few dollars more, I can also replace my disc versions of NWN and ToEE, so I might go ahead and do that as well. I'll probably leave Dragonshard on the table, because it's an RTS and I probably won't like it.

The rest of the RPGs in the offer are mostly action-RPGs. Granted, they are pretty good, if those kind of games do not excite you at all then you're better off skipping them.
