We're launching the weekend early this week as good things should last longer. You've been waiting for this promo for a while, and it's finally here!

You knew this day will finally come, and at last you can grab the great Dungeons & Dragons classics, including Baldur's Gate, Planescape: Torment or Neverwinter Nights, for prices so crazy you have to figure that we're Chaotic Neutral. With this deal we're also testing a totally new promo system that gives you a bigger discount the more games you buy in one order. We're starting with a 20% discount if you buy one game from the offer. Every another game from the promo that you add to the order increases your discount with another 5%, so 2 games get you 25% off, 3 games get you 30% off and so on, until you get a 60% discount on your order of the whole D&D collection. Of course if you already own some of the games from the promo they will count towards your final discount!

The promo ends on Monday, September 26 at 11:59 p.m. EDT, so there's no time to lose, and you'll never know when a similar occasion will happen again.
*Takes a chill pill*

Yeah maybe I overreacted a bit. Stressful day and I've been looking forward to replacing 2 physical D&D disks I own but the thing is it's a very underwhelming sale as I've already got working patched copies on an external hard drive of most of the other D&D games I want and it'd cost more to purchase them on GOG. With the saving for the 3 or 4 that I would pick up, it's not really worthwhile at all for me as the prices aren't low enough to entice me. So now it's a lost sale from me.

To be honest I'm only really a fan of one set rate such as 40% to be honest, most of the "Save Up To" ones that GOG do, I don't bother to buy from. GOG's the only online retailer I use that I can remember doing these save up to deals.

Getting a bigger discount for buying in bulk is not a new or upsetting concept. Many sales and products are sold this way. There are entire stores that are built around this system of giving you a bigger discount for buying in bulk. I don't see what the big deal is. It seems to be especially set up to reward people that have already been buying the games in the list. They will have less to buy to get the bigger discount which is great for them being as they probably paid full price for what they bought before. Also this isn't a normal sale so I wouldn't expect to see it done this way all the time anyways. At least all the games in the sale are similar enough that you might want them all opposed to when they have mixed different genres in a sale.
Damn, i hate GOG for their Promo Actions.
Well.. now i got 9 new Games ^o^

Plz stop that promo stuff, or in the end, i'll own entire GOG cataloge : D
You fall into a trap. You take 3 + 5d6 of damage.
Evil.

Really? Steam has a SEGA sale right now each game is about 50-75% off or you can buy the SEGA collection for 86%. Not only that, you have to buy games you might already own and can't even gift them.

I can sympathize. Although it's not a tragedy since the vast majority of the GOG catalog is simply worth owning.

I've seen that. Huge props to GOG for counting purchased games in the set towards the bigger discount. That's a big bonus in my eyes (plus it's helps with that, "D'oh, why did I have to buy BG at full price a while back when I could've waited for this sale?" feeling :P)

As Madcartoonist says, getting a bigger discount for buying in bulk is certainly nothing new - what is slightly unusual is GOG's ways of doing it. And for my money, they do it better than most other people.

Normally a promotion for a set of games is either this: You buy the entire set of games and you get a nice discount, if you buy just a few of the games you get no discount. Or, you might get some discount on the games if you buy just a few, but if you buy the whole pack you have to buy the games you already have again - otherwise you won't get the big discount.

Look for instance at Steam. I don't have the big problem with Steam that some people have here, but I have a lot more trouble with how they handle some of their promotions. If there is a promotion for a certain publisher for instance, it's usually something like this "Save 10-50% on select games from this publisher, or 75% on the complete publisher catalog pack". This is similar to what GOG usually does, but with one big difference.

If I have every game but one from that publisher, I get the full discount on GOG for buying just that one game. On Steam there is no such consideration. And if I buy the complete pack when I already own some of the games I only pay for the games that I don't already have on GOG, but on Steam I have to pay for all the games - but get no extra copies for the games I pay for again, unless it's a very special promotion.

So I don't agree that what GOG has been doing is unique, and I'd say that they do it better than many others. And as some have said I don't see anything wrong at all with getting a higher discount if you buy more - isn't it just natural for a business to reward good customers?
My wallet's goin' down
It's goin' down down...
only in the GoG.com-forums will you find people complaining about being offered a discount on the most sought after catalogue in the entire store...

as for me, i've been waiting a while for this, and i'll be picking up most if not all of the games on offer.

*pushes glasses up*

This is a total misunderstanding of the alignment system!
Thanks GoG, I bought them all. I was planning on eventually picking up the better titles like Baldur's Gate 1&2 and Planescape Torment soon and waiting on a sale for things like Demonstone. Managed to whittle down my wishlist considerably.
That said, I prefer the previous discount system of a percentage for single titles and a larger one for an entire bundle since I tend to buy one or maybe 2 games at a time. That is my 2 cents however and I won't be upset if this is the new promo pricing model.
This is a great promo! Sadlly I am broke and cant buy them. darn you 7 d&d games i dont have.
